Hmm interesting review in fact Twilight is about a Plain (mary-sue style written) girl named Buffy...I mean Bella who falls in love with a "Vegan" vampire who doesn't burst into flame in the sunlight he sparkles named Angel...I mean Edward...but doesn't realise he's a vampire at first and when she does instead of being scared she instantly falls deeper in love with him...now I could've sworn I read this story on Fanfiction.net for free at least eight years ago.

I've replied to your opinion earlier by saying;
Lara wrote:
...However; the story sounds nothing like Buffy and Angle or any typical vampire story, I got sick of those, but Twilight is by all means different and more brilliant, especially the way it was written. I can’t see the similarity between Bella and Mary Sue…

The girl's character can actually be a good one without being abused or having a mysterious past or being addicted to drugs... etc...

All what some people see is a vampire-romance, and for those I say; have you actually read the book?! I know Edward is a vampire and there is a romantic story between him and Bella and all that, but have you actually read the book? It's more than just and only that.

I know there are some flaws and imperfections in the novel, I am not denying it, especially when it comes to the characters, they need more depth of structure, and this could have been made, sadly it wasn't. Some people may say that the story lacks mystery; that's not a mistake, if the book is not mysterious then simply it's not. If your favorite type of books is mysterious types then read those. The way it was written was excellent considering the fact, correct me if I am wrong, that this is the author's first book.

Maybe I am giving the book credits more than it deserve, but not that much, but it's because I am a fan of dark-romantic novels. Smile

Yeah but what's bad is that the actor who played the vampire hated the character and books too >_< but its hilarious.

Quote:
"What I thought was weird about it[Twilight] was when I read it, I was convinced that Stephenie was convinced that she was Bella and it was like a book that wasn't supposed to be published. You know, like reading her sexual fantasy. Especially when she says it was based on her dream and it's like, 'Oh I had this dream about a really sexy guy. . .' and she just writes this book about it. And some things about Edward are so specific and I was convinced that this woman was mad and she was in love with her own fictional creation." ~RPattz

Never judge a book by its movie.

I haven't seen the movie yet, I might see it someday, but I am not looking forward to it, because movies usually ruin novels and books. They could ruin them by bad actors, bad production, bad directing… could be anything actually… but it’s always a disappointment for readers, why? Because it’s based on an imagination other than the reader’s, it ruins it.

I don't find anything hilarious about what he said. He is an actor after all and his job isn't to criticize or analyze books, what he said is his own personal opinion, not necessarily true. And what does he have to do with what the author thought of when she wrote the book?! It doesn't matter to me as long as the book is good. He said she wrote it based on a dream she had? So what? Writers receive their inspiration from several places and dreams could be one of those places, it's not the first book to be written based on a dream. It was actually stupid of him to say those things; the character of Edward would be ruined for some people.

That's what I personally think, and Tifa; never mind what he says if you have a different opinion, that's his opinion Smile

I think the book is a badly written Mary sue fanfic so I agree with him my vampires don't sparkle and they rip the throats out of young women for sustenance...and that is the vampire that I would rather meet in a dark alley.

Don't speak badly of the writing if you do not prefer these kinds of books. If you like a horror novel of vampires or an action one then Twilight is so not the right book for you, but if you don’t like it; it doesn’t necessarily mean that the story is horrible.

True, however I do have to agree with Tifa. (As I usually seem to do. o.0)

The book is in point of a girl, so, of course, it has to be a chick *... Now don't get me wrong, I love Paranormal Romance... Well, just the Vampire Romance's really... But it has fighting, it has defending the one you love, and protecting her, and saving her... Edward didn't seem much like that at all. He wasn't romantic for the 90+ years he's been alive... He actually acted the way he looked.. 17..

And that shining skin is ridiculous... Shining skin is NOT the skin of a killer, but rather the skin of some majestic unicorn or fairy or something... If vampire's had skin that was glitter (And that was the cheapest special efect ever... just pour glitter on him..) Then people wouldn't be afraid of him, they'd be gawking him.. He'd be the most popular person wherever he'd go..

The movie was ok.. But honestly, it could have been way better with very little effort.. All it would have taken was a little bit of thinking.

Not necessarily. This one could be in a way, but not all books which were written by women are chick *, I consider this an insult to several novels; especially classical ones. Maybe the chick flicks books these days are increasing because of the effect of movies and cinema on writers and authors, but not all women write chick flicks.

Perhaps he wasn’t romantic for the years he’s been alive because he hasn’t found the right girl. Like some say; he is young in love, so that’s why he’s been acting 17 in defending the one he protects and saving her. This may sound tacky or a “girl’s point of view”, but it doesn’t mean that it’s wrong. I hope I understood what you meant.

But; like I stated earlier; this book is not perfect, not even close to it, and it has some flaws. Just a reminder of my opinion.
