Too many SPIN-OFFS! You agree or no?
Okay I know I already posted this topic in FX-2, but that was an accident. It wasn't supposed to go there. Lol! ^^ I think that square uses spin WAAAAY too much. I mean don't get me wrong! Some I LOVE! (Such Crisis Core or Dirge of Cerberus.) But many I hate. (Ex. Chocabo Racers (What were you thinking Square?!) And FX-2. You killed it Square... You killed Final Fantasy X. T.T) So what do you think? Does Square-Enix use spin-offs too often?

It sure does seem many female FF fans are enjoying FFX-2 more than male FF fans, maybe you're right.
In the case of Fran, its pretty unfair to refer a game just because of a character. FFXII is fairly enjoyed by both male and female FF fans, and the game is also hated by fair number of male and female fans - lots of critics on that game.
Lol Stappy, brutal game. Nice one lol.

Lol yep. But It sucked. Seriously who would buy a game because it had a virtual girl on it? They should have called it something like...
"Adventure time with Yuna" instead of "Final Fantasy X-2" so that people who loved FFX would never have played the spin off in the first place and everyone would be happy.
Actually, I have a good analogy. Anyone seen the new south park episode with Indiana Jones in it? THAT'S what square did to FFX!

I never had a problem with Yuna's clothes cause they were skimpy. I thought they looked cute. But I had problem with Yuna's clothes because they didn't fit her character.  And Rikku used to have common sence in X. But now... well... Now she's a dingbat.

i dunno how many ppl realize it but FFX-2 wasnt supposed to be an RPG with a deep story and serious character development...thats what FFX was for...X-2 is for simple fun and i think it fulfilled that purpose

You could say it fulfilled that purpose. But it also carried the weight of continuing the FFX story and finally showing an ending which we never saw in FFX. It's that last point that was the problem.

from what i heard FF-X2 was made in hopes of drawing more females in to the FF stories that’s why it was easer sorry to say but basically that polled a large group of females don't know how many and found out that a female main charter with easy play and simpler plot and more "fun" was what they wanted.

I didn't say Fran was slutty but they put her in barely skimpy clothes because they knew it would appeal to the pocket digging teenage boys of America...and other parts of the world they did the same with most of the outfits in X-2...I did word the post wrong and what they assume will attract the female audience really pisses me off that's why the original tomb raider is better the american made remake they turned her into the stereotype of the strong bad ass woman who likes to shoot people and munches more carpet than defective hoover...wow that was a long rant and still not finished. The game makers also think that girl's want to play dressup with most games so they added the dress spheres god they might as well have thrown a baby sitting mini game too then they could have covered all the bases...ugh makes me sick. Okay I think I'm finished *glances around* yeah I'm finished.

Can't say Kingdom hearts is a spin off for FF since its a totally different story, they just add in some ff characters and mess up the story. So its forgiveable lol.
Now Square learned their mistake, hopefully they won't repeat releasing spin offs from a heavy title such as FF 7. So far all ff7's spin offs are satisfying, take Crisis Core and Dirge of cerberus for example (thankfully they didn't screw ff7 that much). But the opposite happened with FFX-2, fans wanted a remake of FFX and when FFX-2 is released its awfully disappointing.
Reason? Expectations, fans expect FFX-2 to carry out gameplay like FFX. Maybe not all of FFX, at least the story line..they weren't satisfied with FFX's ending so they wanna know more in FFX-2. Sadly, square couldn't display any good quality equivalent to FFX in FFX-2. Whats more disappointing is they couldn't even make a good story, though they flopped the battle system and character development.
FFXII? They just screw the battle system a bit and the fans are furious, throwing a lot of critics and comments on the new open battle system. Truth is I think FF fans need to move on, instead on sticking to random battles all the time.
