Yeah but that did the open action gameplay in FFXII and I think it kind of works though they should've gotten rid of the ATB meter.

well i actually liked the fact that i can see the enemies...i could avoid them like that if i really didnt feel like battling...only thing i hated was the licence board system

I like the XII battle system. Like Tifa said, with the open worlds there isn't really any other battle system that would work on a console.

There're rumours that FFXIII's battle system will be much the same with FFXII's, the open battle system.

Would be cool if players can team up and play the game together, but that'll only make another online game haha.

Yeah Honestly I couldn't ajust to the new battle system in 12, but I was more understanding beceuse I figured they were trying to make it more action packed. It's just really hard for me to navigate the charcters and keep them alive and stuff. I think they should make the battle system like Kindom Hearts. Because it lives up to the tradition, but makes it WAY more fun at the same time. It's eaisier to scroll through the menu during all the action that away.

Yeah, just like in an online game. Some monsters are passive and some are aggressive, so they'll just attack your party when you get close to them. And the drop system changed too, monsters don't drop money anymore (only loots) which I think brings a whole lot of logic into battles.

Maybe the license system ruined the game slightly, licence for using weapon...-.-. Thankfully they didn't have things like some FF traffic police stopping Vaan and the gang saying "License and registration please.", "Carrying illegal weapons? I'll have to give you a ticket." Laughing

as to the gambits...i dont use them...cause yeah that way the game does everything for you which i think makes is quite boring...only gambit i use is to attack the leader's target since i cba telling everyone to attack lol

hmm i can see how that can be a good and a bad thing at the same time, me, i kinda liked the whole ramdom battles thing, just feels like thats the way FF Should be ya know.
