This may sound like a really stupid question but...
Hooooow the heck do I sort my equipment? You know, armors and weapons?
I KNOW it can be done because some guides mention it can be done (just not how), and I have done it before in the US version!
Currently playing the Japanese version though and I absolutely cannot get my equipment sorted. Items...no problem. I'm going nuts here manually keeping my equipment sorted!
Either the Japense version does not have the ability to sort weapons and armor or I must be blind or something...
Unfortunatly I no longer have my US PS2 or the US Version of FF-X so i can't check how I did it there...
I know, unusual question! But hey, if anyone happens to have an answer I'd love to hear it. =)

OMG... Go to the Items screen, press circle then go to the Equiptment screen (Look at the top) you should be able to sort it manually or get it done autonmatically by selecting auto (I think)

I know...it's a ridiculous question but driving me nuts nonetheless!
The Japanese version has the X / O buttons reversed, so in my case I actually need to press X not O. =)
Aside from that though...
I go to the items screen...press X top to get into the menu at the top...
Which is "tsukau, seiri, soubi, daiji na mono" or in other words "use, sort, equipment, important items"
If I go to sort, where I get the choice between manual / auto, auto just sorts the items.
If I go to equipment, the cursor instantly goes into the equipment list where I can manually sort the equipment but gives me no sorting option anywhere...
I am seriously beginning to think this version doesn't have that...

All it's letting me do is manually move the items in the equipment list up and down....
