It probably is the way you gain stats. The style is very different from the way RPG gaming is today. Just give it a while, and you will be used to it.

this game is easy to get used to but later on you do go back down to level 1 but its really easy to level up from there

gah your making references to the japanese Final Fantasy II dude (this is Final Fantasy IV in japan)... this one is the one with cecil and kain... the level and stat system is normal... the one ur thinking of is the one originally for NES in japan that had the abnormal stat system were you gained specific stat increases depending on how you fought

well, im this forum is about the us game, and ive figured out wat ineeded to do, icudnt figure out how to get the snowcraft, and i had never noticed that if i asked cid about the "airship" icud learn the term "sunfire" or sumthin, icant remember... but, im tryin to find the place called,"deist" (at least thats wat i think its called)

I didn't find it that hard. I found some parts troubling because sometimes monster were basically immune to phyical and it took me a while to kill them.

there is no Japanese/european FF2 forum, so forgive them if they become confused.
to get the snow craft first help out the prisoners in the mine, talk to the guy who told you to go to the mine then return to the first town, search all-over and the white mage will leave the party(you keep his canoe though), return to the bloke who told you about the mines and he'll join your party, when you return to the mines search to the right of that weird blue stone to find the snowcraft.
to raise your stregnth return to an early area and equip everyone with two sheilds, then simply choose attack all the time, eventualy all your foes will run away, but in the meantime your stregnth and sheild proficency will go up. switch back to your weapons if you want to level them up(you'll have to equip them as items first unless you are playing DoS for the GBA).

4 is the same game but its alot harder so if u had that much trouble with 2 i reccomed that you dont even bother with ff4
