im about 9 hours in..and so far i also am enjoying the game, the battle system is rather entertaining (though not a big fan of the license system - reminds me of the dreaded sphere grid system *shudder*)
like the environments too...so far so good on the whole.

Its a pretty good game, but the graphics are a bit more advanced than ffx(lip-sync), but it cant get much better while on the ps2, i think.

The license systems' techniks werent very good, but apart from that, what was wrong with it? I thought it was a great way to be able to make your characters as versatile as you want them to be.

if final fantasy is your thing (and if it isn't, why are you here!?!?) then i can't find a major problem with it besides liscenses. the main problem that i found with the game is i can't play it because my sister is addicted

Yeah, those techniks were mostly bad - I like the Lincense system (just like I like the sphere grid system of FFX) because it is such a free system. But that kinda destroys the idea of classes (like if 'knight' Balthier ran around and only cast white magicks )
- reminds me of a guide I found on GameFaq, which described how to 'make' classes within the game, by only picking certain parts of the license board. The day I - finally - finish the game, and if I want to start over there, then I'll probably try and use that guide. Must be awsome too!

i find that i get spoiled for choice with the license grid and dont know what to do, for example, i want to have balthier as a gun wielder but end up giving him swords because they are simply there at the time and are stronger.
was more simple back in the day when you had to give certain people certain items; in this system you can just unlock the whole board i guess and use everything.

when it came to the fact that i could choose what my three characters attacked with, i just gave 'em all swords. Partly because they started off with swords, and partly because i wanted a massive sword fight with gilgamesh(which was an important reason as to why i got the game)

I didn't have any problem using the license system...seeing as it was apart of the game's story (rule under Archadia and such...)
I think there could've been more character development in the game but overall I liked it :]

its true that its addictive (so far atleast) though the story is rather confusing and jumbled compared to the other ff games; some times i dont understand whats going on.
the map is also very annoying, having to keep going into menu and all that every few minutes just to see where in the world you are; should have a better system in place, like a one button map thing
(also, where does it mention about the licenses being an arcadian rule?)
