Theories about Maleficent and Pete...
Warning! Spoilers ahead! If you haven't beaten KH2 or haven't visited "World that never was" don't read any further!

So what do you think happened to Pete and Maleficent in "the World that never was" after they ran to battle the heartless? I didn't really think about it when i beat the game yesterday, since I thought they'd somehow be a part of the last bosses. But they never showed up! Not even in the credits!
And what's even more "disturbing"; None of the site I've looked through has an answer, not even Wikipedia.
So, my own theory is that, since they both had lost most of their control over the heartless, they've either:
1) Sacrificed themselfe for greater good, but why would they?
2) They were both consumed by the darkness.
3) They defeated the heartless but for some reason left (which would be rather surprising, since Maleficent wanted the castle as her new base, once the heartles were gone!)
What do you think?

| well, i think that they wouldnt lose to the heartless, i tihnk that would be an undesetimte of malificent's power, but i think that, if they did lose, they were consumed by darkness (even though they are pretty deep in darkness anyway) and u will run into thier heartless next time, or they won, and took over the castle, actually, ive never thought about it before, but maybe that letter from the king in the end was a call to duty for sora riku (and maybe kairi, because malificent (at ther new base of operation) is, once again, raiding the worlds with heartless.

In any case, she might be part of the next KH3.. you know, even if the main charcaters have been switched with new ones, Square and Disney might want to include characters from the "older" games and Maleficent could be a possibility...

Most probably yes. We all know there will be KH3 just a matter of, is Melificant gonna be in it, same as pete. I would say yeah, but i would hate it, and i mean hate it if they where the main bad guys again like in KH1, (Even though in KH1, Ansem was. But she was a huge character) But yeah. I reckon they will show up, and i reckon that they disappeared too, not in darkness, but ran away. Probably hidden in some part of the castle that we cant access.
Also what is stupid, the heartless where after them, yet she and him control the heartless, whats up with that?

Well, it must be as they always says in the game:
Darkness slowly consumes persons who use it, and too many heartless would be too many for even Maleficent to battle/control

Mm true, but I'm sure that Melificant could take care of all those. But yeah i am suspecting that she and him will be in the next game, but I'm not expecting them to be enemies, even though when you last spoke to her she said "This doesn't make us friends" But if she really wanted to kill you, she would have joined the heartless in attacking you, maybe she wants to help with the crusade against the heartless.
