Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
The red-head breathed in deeply, eyebrows meeting. He stared with concern at the calm night sky as he tried to catch his breath. It was unsettling to be traveling so close to his hometown, but he didn't have a choice. It was all about survival. Sinking to the ground and sitting, Riley cautiously scanned the area around him. All seemed to be safe, despite the fact that a faint outline of the city of Santop could be seen on the horizon. Riley ignored this haunting image and brought his attention to why he was there in the first place -- food. He was running low on supplies and Santop happened to be the closest town. Riley cringed and silenced his heavy breathing. He didn't want to have to go inside of the town; he certainly wouldn't be well-recieved by the townspeople. Riley rested in the grass and looked around for any other sort of solution to his troublesome situation, ignoring his drooping eyelids.
Charlie was on guard duty in Zybold when he heard the news of the dinosaurs breaking free and are now attacking other towns and settlements.
Zybold was the smallest of the four major cities with a population of about 500,000 people and it was ruled by a lord called lord Francis Zybold his family has been ruling since it officially became a city that is why it is named Zybold.
Charlie ran back to the Zybold Protection Agency headquarters and waited for orders from his commander, who reports to the lord directly, about the dinosaur attacks.

Coraline was enjoying the sensation of walking through the tall grass drying in the sun. The small breeze was gentle and refreshing, a beautiful evening. As a huntress she was an excellent tracker, and she knew a little bit about the world beyond her tribe. That is how she knew of the city out this way. She figured she must be getting close to Santop, and sure enough she was able to see the skyline in the distance once she cleared the next hill.
While she was up there she saw something else as well. A young boy was sitting in the grass... or... maybe it was a young woman... she couldn't really tell due to the creature's delicate form... "All these humans look the same to me" she mumbled under her breath. This little red headed one may be able to help me though, if they are local. she thought... the problem was how to address the human.
She walked up silently, and while she was still about a spear's length from him she found the proper words "Hello traveler, may I speak with you?"
Riley had tuned out, staring hazily into the distance when he had heard a voice. The voice was kind and soft, yet he was brutally thrown out of his daydream world into reality, started by the encounter. Riley sprang to his feet and clenched the hilt of one of his daggers, ready to kill whatever had spoken. He relaxed a little when he saw that it in fact wasn't someone from the secret agency that was looking for him. It was a girl. Not a monster, not an assassin. A girl. One of those tribal lioness' he had heard about from the east. He was ashamed that she had startled him so.
Riley regained his composure and felt his face go pink. "D-don't sneak up on me like that," he grumbled, not looking into her sharp eyes and casually popping his collar to hide the mark of the evil on his neck. Signifying his ex-loyalty to a hated organization wasn't the best introduction when he already appeared to be a complete dolt. Still tense, Riley realized that he should answer the question that the girl had asked in the first place.
Clearing his throat, Riley spoke smoothly, "What about?"
Charlie was just talking to some off the other guards when the commander walked in with a grave look on his face.
Commander Teage has been the commander for 10 years and this is the only time that anyone has seen him like this.
"We are to do nothing except the job we are paid to do, any complaints won't be listened to and your wages will be cut if you do. This is an order from our Lord." Commander Teage shouted so every guard could hear him.
Even though a lot of the guards thought this was wrong they stayed silent because they needed the money and didn't want to lose any of it for anything.

Caroline stepped out of her home. She was heading out on a trip, to find out if the rumors of dinosaurs was true. It wasn't long before she got to the outskirts of Santop, her home area, and noticed there were two people. The girl was just addressing the young man. She shrugged to herself, and turned in the direction of the latest report of a dinosaur hit. Maybe this would give her a necessary chance to change form. She would always stick to her prinicible of only when necessary, but she also felt an inching to change. She hadn't done so in 2 years. Thank goodness, I'm not actually human. she thought to herself.
Coraline's grip on her spear had tightened when the young boy jumped up, but she had made no move of attack. She didn't feel threatened by such a small creature, but something still told her to be cautious. Her ears went back a little when she thought about how silly her question would seem to a local. Her finger raised to her lips, covering her mouth as she puzzled for the right words. At a loss she decided just to come out with it. "Well, Im not from around here." She said, trying to remember the human language she had picked up. "Is this Santop?" she asked pointing in the distance.
Riley was glad that the girl was not being hostile towards him, because he would have been dead for sure. He paled at the girl's sheer intimidating size over his tiny self and the lethal-looking spear that she was holding. Riley tried to ignore his fear.
"Yeah, that's Santop," he replied fully with a bitter undertone to his fragile voice, noticing her strong accent. "What brings you here?"
Charlie was the only one to react to the news he didn't care about money more than the safety of the people outside the city.
"I don't care if you cut my wages, you can just keep them I quit." He walked over to the commander and handed his helm and his sword to him. "Here is the equipment that I got when I joined you can have it back."
He stormed out of the headquarters and went to his dorm to collect his stuff. He got his sword+shield and his bow from his chest and then collected a spare pair of clothes and a traveling cloak.

She looked over at the human, more out of the corner of her eye than directly at him "My home has been attacked by giant beasts, I have come to attack too." She hoped the human would know her meaning. "I do not know your name, my name is Cora" she said turning toward him again.
"It's Riley Nimitz," Riley offered. He paled and felt sick to his stomach at her statement. "Attacked?" he muttered softly, more to himself. Riley ran a stressed hand through his crimson hair.
"Cora," he spoke awkwardly. The name was foreign to him. "Those beasts... they don't happen to be the dinosaurs, do they?" Riley asked nervously, hoping that the girl understood him. He hoped that it wasn't dinosaurs that were attacking, too, even thought the world certainly deserved their wrath. Disgusting, low-life skum like himself deserved their wrath. Riley bit his lip.
Cora tilted her head Riley? she thought surely Riley is a male's name... right? she was still unsure of the little creature's gender, and it was starting to really annoy her now... it was everything she could do not to take the creature and turn it upside own just to know.
"Din-o-saurs?" she asked puzzled "What does this mean?" She had never heard them called that, but she didn't spend much time with humans either.
Riley noticed that the girl was eyeing him oddly and prayed that he wasn't next in line on the dinner platter. Tensing uncomfortably, Riley thought of a way to explain dinosaurs to Cora. "You know... big hairless creatures with sharp teeth," he said softly, gesturing towards his own set of teeth. "And claws. They're reptiles, a pretty intelligent species."
Riley's thoughts uncomfortably brought him back to the sterile and horrifying smells of the underground labs he worked in, experimenting on the dinosaurs. Riley tried to surpass the horrifying memory and hoped that the girl knew what he was talking about.
Charlie packed all his remaining stuff in a traveling bag and give in to the local church before exiting the city.
He set of in the direction of Ritdos there he can go see his family who lives in a settlement on the outskirts of the town, it will take him about 3 days if he walks for at least 18 hours per day.
Thinking to himself about what he would do if his family was hurt made him run as soon as Zybold was out of site.
