The Witcher
sooo...we all know it's a game but what a lot of you don't know is that the game is based on a very popular series if books! yes my dearies, game wasn't the first XD
however until the first game came out, they were only available in polish, czech and few other slavonic languages but after the that they started being translated into english as far I know...soooo
I'm curious...has anyone one of you ever stumble upon them or thought about reading or have read them?
if not and you like fantasy, I GUARANTEE you will love this...it's total genius work

There is a game? lol
I picked up the first book at the library while looking for something else about a year ago. I won't be able to give it justice as I skimmed through some parts. It's alright I suppose. For me, fantasy = 1800 pages very deep, very serious. The Last Wish (Its name I think) was more fairytale-like, had a bit of humor in it and didn't have enough twists for me to enjoy it as much as other books. I would say it was average overall.

lol eh skimming through one book is nothing...the whole series is waaay long than that..i believe you can fit enough twist into 6 books that cover more than 10 years of happenings....so no, you can't give it justice and you can't even call it average not having properly read even one book lol no offense

The Wiitcher game is quite good! I'm playing it now. The book is actually a collection of short stories. That is why you probably got that fairy-tale feeling.
The Witcher, videogame at least, is a great thing of national pride to the Polish, as the book/game are both Polish in nature/making.
The president of Poland gave Barrack Obama a limited Edition of The Witcher 2 when he visited Poland.
I haven't read the book, but will probably one day seeing as I'm playing through the game.

but I'm not talking about ONE book...the collection of short stories can go to hell...I'm talking about the entire series that consits of 6 full lenght books...so yeah, screw the short stories XD

"Some parts" is key in my sentence 
I usually do skimming when:
1) The part at hand is a bit boring
2) The part before it wasn't that gripping to keep me reading every single word
3) I wonder whether something good will come next
Anyways, you're right, and I did say that I can't give it justice, I just thought I would share my experience with it
