The Wind Waker...what's up with it?

so here goes...

i love TLoZ games ^-^ i bought the collector's edition just so that i could play them on my GC...and i bought Twilight Princess...and THIS one...The Wind Waker. i found the other games challenging enough to like them, and not that hard to beat...but i've never finished this one, i can't find my way around...and most important, i don't know what's going on! i've restarted the game over and over but i just don't understand...

so, what do you think? did this happen to you too? or maybe i should pay more attention to my surroundings? XD

Personally, I think the whole Legend of Zeldra series is a tad over rated. The stories always the same and has no replay value, isn't open ended, and doesn't offer much variety.

I only got stuck once in Wind Waker. The only annoyance was the sailing, but you don't need to worry about that quite as much once you get the tune which lets you summon cyclones to teleport you and the boat across the sea.

Hellmouth's right. Almost all the past Zelda games have had pretty much the same storyline over and over again with the very occasional exception. Twilight Princess is supposed to be the last one with a similar storyline to others though. After TP they were planning to revamp the series and come up with some more original storylines for the future games.

The Wind Waker never had me confused for an instant except for the Triforce shard part, that annoyed me. The sailing, I didn't mind. By the time you get the hang of it and get cyclones, sailing is really not difficult or all that time consuming.

My main issue was how time consuming shard collecting was. It practically felt like filler because they didn't feel like the game was long enough.

Overall, the game is awesome, the cell-shading really wasn't half bad, I don't get why so many people bashed it. TP's more serious style was still preferred by me in the long run though, as that game was flat out gorgeous.

Wind Waker really could have been better in a few ways, but once you get passed all the minor annoyances, the game is really great. I just don't know how you got stuck, the game tells you where you need to go almost the whole time, and even marks it on your sea chart.

The Triforce shard hunting wasn't time consuming. I got that out of the way in around thirty minutes.

Time consuming if you are 10 and don't quite know what you are doing. Either way, it is annoying, and I feel very unnecessary.

Can't be any worse then the FF series. Always an unlikely team saving pretty much the entire world in one way or another. It is kind of sad when you can predict how the whole story will end,

Yeah...really is...you can tell all the characters in RPG's

1) The main hero comes from a village/small town which was destroyed.

2) The main hero has a crush on a blonde cleric in a white dress, who picks flowers.

3) The more outrageous the hair the more important the character.

4) Somehow everyone in your party has the knowledge neccessary to weild any weapon and pilot any vehicle.

5) The main hero must ALWAYS use some kind of bladed weapon.

6) Children are always stronger than war veterans, despite the war veterans having special training and children being...dumb...

7) The cleric is the most useless member of the party.

Cool Enemies die in one hit at the start until you enter the cave where everything becomes massively OP and resistant to your attacks.

9) No matter where you are in the world, depending on how far into the game you are, you will ALWAYS buy a weapon that sux for the time being.

10) After defeating a boss you will get a super OP weapon/item/armour which WOULD have aided the battle had you had it before. This weapon is now useless as when you enter the next town you buy better ones.

11) All side-quests will be unlocked as the planet is 5 minutes away from anhiallation.

12) You have all the time you want to buy items, kill things etc. Even if the boss has killed a village nearby you will still slash the life out of boars and the boss will wait for 4 hours.

13) There is always a secret weapon.

14) The hero's crush must die.

15) The hero must be mentally incapable!

My country lay within a vast desert. When the sun rose into the sky, a burning wind punished my lands, searing the world. And when the moon climbed into the dark of night, a frigid gale pierced our homes. No matter when it came, the wind carried the same thing. Death. But the winds that blew across the green fields of Hyrule brought something other than suffering and ruin. I coveted that wind, I suppose." ~ Ganondorf.

Try searching for "The Hero's Hourney" in Wikipedia. There are hundreds of thousands of storylines which use those points, some good and some dismal.

I have to agree with Nintendo_1987 though. Wind Waker is a good game.
