the new face of xbox
did anyone als download the new Xbox stuff today? I think it looks like crape I liked the old look to the xbox dashboard ALOT better and know it does not log on to the game you have in your console when you turn it on WTF and we have people that look like mii characters come on what are they doing to xbox?

ithought EXACTLY the same thing. i hate this new update, personally... i was just getting used to the original, and then this load of... shizzle comes along. i agree, i hate the new look.

the biggest thing that buggs me is the loss of the auto logging for games like come on i don't care about the dashbored at all i use my xbox to play games not look at the dashbored

i also perferred the layout of the background beneath the text in the dashboard, but now thats been taken away. and every time i create my character i feel i look a real wally.

i kinda like it, partly because the Xbox guide button does a TON more as its basiclly the old interface but in a smaller quicker guide that can be used from in-game, i think i can even launch another game from within a game using it.
the Avitar's are OK, its better than the mii's but not too much better, i think too much attention is being drawn to them when the UI is better elsewhere.
installed a Game to my hard drive, the loading times were reduced a little, but not much (tried with the new Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts)
i think overall i will like the NXE better than the old UI, simply because its more stuff that's executed quicker and in an easier to utilize format.

a little flashy, but it works. its going to take some time, trying to find vidz and movies, but i'll tinker with it a bit tomorrow.
one thing i did notice though, as soon as i upgraded, I popped Halo3 in, when the game came up it recommended not storing the game to the hardrive... weird?

otherwise, i hear some people have been getting some trouble see their friends?
anyway, i really feel its good to update things, but the way they talked about made it seem like this huuuge thing when really they are just improving the ui. the netflix thing is cool but other than that i dont see the huge fuss microsoft made over it.

alright, ive found one way, and i think there are two ways to make the 360 boot directly to the game, skipping over the UI.
the tested method i know is going to 'my tab' or something, and going to 'my settings' or something (should be the last one) which will bring up your console settings (looks similar to the old UI for changing resolution and sound)
the other way is through the guide button, should be on the last tab under system settings.
my names arent right, i could go check and get you the right names for the directions, but my 360 is downstairs and id rather not run across my house just to do it.
explore a little bit, you will find it.

There's been a change to the Xbox interface? Does that mean it's good or bad that my 360 doesn't have an internet connection for it to download the new interface from? I've still got the old interface and it seems perfectly fine to me.

stick with it, microsoft only gets mad at you if you have said connection and refuse to download it. its a mandatory update, but it wont matter to you if you can't actually download it.
