Hello I am sure many of you are aware of the new item suggestion feature that allows you to create your own items that can be used in the Final Funender RPG game. There have been a lot of creative items suggested by the members here, and some items had to be declined. If your item is approved you will be rewarded with gil, a chance to receive a special item, and your item will be announced in the "Newly Added Items" forum.
This topic should help you learn how to become a professional blacksmith by offering a few pointers on what type of items are accepted and which are not. I have to edit a lot of suggested items which takes some time, but your items can get approved a lot faster if you follow these simple steps:
#1. Check the current RPG Shop to make sure that your item name doesn't already exist. For example, if you wish to add a new sword, you could check the Swords Shop to make sure a similar item isn't already there. There have been a lot of rejections due to members submitting common items that are already listed in the shops. The newly added Store Clerk feature to search the shops will make this easier for you.
#2. Please make sure that the spelling of your item is correct. You could always use sites like Dictionary.com or Google.com to make sure your item name and it's descriptions are spelled correctly. Hopefully we will install the same Spellchecker found here on the forums onto the Item Suggestor to better help you.
#3. Please make the item name begin with a capital letter. I am seeing a lot of items and descriptions typed in all lower case letters. Such as this example:
incorrect
Item Name: "gordain's flame of masterdan"
Short Description: "a spell to create the breath of a dragon onto the brumos"
Please capitalize the first letter of every word in the item name. Example:
correct
Item Name: "Gordain's Flame Of Masterdan."
Short Description: "A spell to create the breath of a dragon onto the Brumos."
The grammar doesn't have to be perfect, so if you find it too hard to figure out then just do your best and we will modify it if necessary.
#4. Do not submit the "All Classes" option for every item. Not every class can use certain items. It does not make sense for powerful magic users to use a complex weapon that only warriors have trained to use, and vice versa. You can check the RPG Shop to see which classes usually use certain items. For example, knights usually use spears, thieves and ninjas mostly use knives, mages use spells and summons, etc.
The "All Classes" option is usually for special items that everyone could use. For example, someone submitted a "Tomato" and considering that everyone could throw a tomato, that is acceptable as an item that can be used by all classes. Most common items can be used by all classes as well. So it is recommended that if you are creating an item such as a gun, then only classes such as a Sniper, Brass Gunner, or the Robots can use.
#5. Please do not create requests for items with similar names of pre-existing items. Use the Store Clerk search function to search for your proposed new item name and any existing similarities.
The following shops and classes currently contain enough items for every class so they are not necessary.
Please do not create requests for the following classes:
Hero
Ninja
Knight
Swordsman
Thief
This list may be updated with more shops and classes at any time. Shop & Class list updated by Kimbrrli on Sept 17, 2008.
NEW Feature:
Now you can look up missing equipment by class before you use the Item Suggestor. This new search function is called the Class Specialist and can be found on the Store Clerk page. Using this new feature will help you avoid your new item suggestion from being rejected. If a class already has equipment for the level you suggest then it mostly likely will not be approved. Please use this feature before deciding which class and level to suggest new equipment. Remember to double check the closed shop & class lists because even though some equipment may be missing from the closed shops & classes, new equipment for them will NOT be approved.
The link to the Item Suggestor can be found in the main Shop labeled "Blacksmith", and in the "Newly Added Items" forum's description labeled "Suggest an Item".
*NOTE* Even if you have followed all of these steps correctly, that does not guarantee that your item will be approved. There are other factors involved that determine if an item should be approved or not.

The weapons being only one per level is not so good, I know that it prevents a lot of repetitive stuff, but it also has prevented me from making a healing spell for non-magic based people.
