The Best Collection of Minigames
I checked some of the articles in this section of the forums finding generally ones related to FF characters and other essential features in the series. However; none of them is about minigames, even though they have taken a major part of the Final Fantasy series since FFVII.
Final Fantasy VII’s minigames:
All the minigames at the Gold Saucer (they are so many to count )
Final Fantasy VIII’s minigames:
Triple Triad card game
Chocobo World
Final Fantasy IX’s minigames:
Tetra Master card game
Chocobo Hot and Cold
Blackjack
Final Fantasy X’s minigames:
Blitzball
The Chocobo minigames in the Calm Lands
Monster Arena in the Calm Lands
Other minigames in different locations like the ones in Macalania and Zanarkand.
Final Fantasy X-2’s minigames:
Sphere Break
Blitzball
Digging in the Desert
The Chocobo minigames in the Calm Lands
Final Fantasy XII's minigames:
I am not completely sure that the Mark Hunt in Final Fantasy XII is technically considered a minigame or not. However I placed it in the poll since Final Fantasy XII, in addition to the hunts, has small minigames in some locations, like the fishing one. In any case; if you are voting for Final Fantasy XII’s minigame know that you are voting for the Hunts.
Personally; I prefer one of each, especially Sphere Break and Triple Triad card game, but the rest of the minigames in FFX-2 are the worst of all for me, and I have some serious issues with Chocobo World lol.
Anyways; if we are speaking of the quantity Final Fantasy VII’s minigames would win with no doubt since it has so many of them, so remember we are speaking of the quality. Please let me know if I forgot to mention any.

Actually my most favourite minigame is the card based games in FFVIII (Triple triad) and FFIX's. But considering the fun I had playing the minigames in FFX, I voted FFX's minigame as the best.
If the categories are splitted then I'll surely go for card based games. ^^

I know it would have been better, but I read in someone's post some time ago that the polls have limits, so I couldn’t possibly made a list of all the minigames in Final Fantasy .

I don't really like minigames they detract from the game itself because you end up playing them alot more than you do the actual game (Final Fantasy VII mostly) but for my favorites I would say the gold saucer ones because they were just more fun...I mean sure they weren't the most advanced and had some simplicity but they were just addictive (except for Mog house that one was kind of annoying even though moogles are cute) I especially loved the rail shooter one...I don't know why but every time I played it I had fun though chocobo races was cool too well until you got the gold chocobo then that took away the challenge of it.

Yeah, I agree, Final Fantasy VII had the most addictive ones. It probably had the best collection of minigames. Most of them, if not all, were fun. The other games had only one excellent minigame, if I may describe it by that word, but the rest were far from being excellent, at least that's why I think. I gave an example earlier about FFX-2; I really liked Sphere Break, but the rest were literally crap, especially the Blitzball.

Boosting up this old thread...
They were going for something big with blitzball, some people like it and I tried to like it but the frustration was too ovepowering. Square could have at the very least had a team that was easy to beat so you could get at least get a feel for what you were doing.
I didn't mind sphere break, but to me that was like a delicious turkish delight in a bag full of sawdust.
A lof of RPG's are trying to have good minigames. They really do seem out of place though.

triple triad was, and still is, the sh*t. i love it.
I never really took the time to figure out sphere break, but i poured many, many hours into blitzball, to get the best team and such, but ive b*tched about the inconcistencies in player levelling on other teams compared to your own before, and it makes me wanna punch a dead cat.
its a fail.
sorta.
the card game out of nine was like a lucky dip.
i could not for the life of me figure it out. wtf does P and M mean?
i gotta say though, its a huge toss up between the chocobo treasure hunting in 9, and the chocobo racing/breeding in 7.
they were the best out of em all.

P : the power of the card in hexadecimal.
T : the card type, P, M, X, or A.
D : the card's physical defense in hexadecimal.
M : the card's magical defense in hexadecimal.

... i could not, for th elife of, figure out what you just said.
hexadecimal?
wtf?
arc said something smart...
And in tripple triad you CAN get stuff, the better cards mod to rare items, and when you have done the card quest and are playing all the suits on the ragnarok, you can keep getting Gilgamesh and refining it for ten holy wars, until you have 100.
so there.
punk.
