Tekken 5 pwns
Man it has been a looooong time since I have played any console games since I have been so busy. However I thought I would take a little timeout and purchase a few games. The first one I played was Tekken 5, and I didn't bother playing Tekken 4 because Tekken 3 is one of my favorite fighting games of all time.
I played the heck out of T3 and even memorized all of the combos. Anyway, I am really glad that T5 is still the same only with cool upgrades. I hate when games (and movie sequels) take away all of the things you loved in a previous version and replaces it with something else. I like things to only get better while maintaining the things that made the game or movie a hit.
The biggest plus about Tekken 5 is the load times. Every map and seen only takes a couple of seconds to load (if that). They really did a great job of optimizing the game.
I also purchased FFX2 finally, before I just rented it for about a month heh. I am still waiting for Shadow of Colossus to arrive in the mail.

FFX-2 eh? hmm...
Well, hope you get your moneys worth. lol
I keep thinking of getting some games which are cheap now but I never buy them. Games like God of War etc are all $25 here.

we got tekken 5 in the break room at work..
its very nice.
i play DOA4, but there are a few features from Tekken that i wish DOA4 had:
1: Tekken has a better combo system, you can actually break away from a combo attack against you. in DOA4 you just kinda prey.
2: in DOA4 blocking only works half the time against attacks it should block most of the time. in tekken it actually works against most attacks and only really doesnt block against power attacks like it should.
i cant think of anymore.. i do like DOA4, it has MUCH nicer graphics, and the gameplay and animation is MUCH smoother, plus i also enjoy the character selection more.
just Tekken has better gameplay..
hope DOA5 can get that gameplay. then it will be the best fighter ever.

I have a question. In Tekken 5 is there anyway to block or dodge that fire attack from the last boss? I noticed he only does it when he is further away so I try to stay closer to him. However it does so much damage and I can't seem to avoid it.
Sometimes he just totally owns me with it too, it is like he fights differently against different characters. I tried to beat the game with Julia and he shot that fireball at me two times every round for instant death and I couldn't do anything about it.

check gamefaqs, ive only played the multiplayer.
gamefaqs helped me in DOA4, the final boss is a * and can teleport and counter-attack like freaking crazy...
im not kidding it would take HOURS of battles to fight her, and each battle at at around 1.5 minnutes or less...
the stratagy that Gamefaqs offered:
"Spam Punch"
and it worked, i can kill her on the first try EVERY time.... its amazing, and sad... and yet awesome, because it ONLY works on the final boss, if you try to spam punch on ANYONE else you die... there is more advice in it like "Dont fight her against walls, dont block, dont try to grab, and most importantly... stay away from walls."

lol, I know all about the last boss of DOA4. Xplay (back when it was worth watching) made a really funny review about that boss. Everytime the boss did an attack it had the character saying things like "omg hax!" and the DOA4 boss said "lol n00b".
They had some other jokes as well and I found it really funny since these are things you hear on online games all of the time. I don't watch Xplay anymore at all, every since they totally screwed up their studio design for no reason, and got rid of all of their funny jokes.
