Stuck at Yunalesca

well i'm stuck at Yunalesca, it's impossible for me to heal because i'm in Zombie, and i need to stay that way to survive Mega-Death, an annoyingly cheap attack that kills everyone that isn't a zombie since zombies are already dead... Aeons i find useless, since she usually ends up gaining more health. i have reflect on my party, so that she doesn't kill my party through healing also it's there for the first stage so i can attack and not suffer from her counter attacks...

my main team is a group of Tidus, yuna and auron, my auron is powerful and can do max damage with criticals and overdrives, my tidus and yuna are around standard.

i need help what should i do?

get holy waters first....lol before boss battles i usually set my aeons on overdrive so when i summon them they can use it straight away and do a nice damage before sent to death lol thats bascally what i did...attacking with auron...making sure he and yuna werent zombie..and also using bahamut plus one more aeon was actually enough

OK my solution is very different, don't use Holy Waters, ever. Don't cast reflect. Simply just fight with your zombied characters and you will pull through easily. Just use a phoenix down when one dies.

Then, how to heal?

I found it easy to have the characters with the highest HP to survive the Zombie attack (Hellbiter, is what I think it's called), and then to switch them out for my other characters. Administer Holy Waters to characters with lower HP, and heal them, while switching them out before Yunalesca casts "Mega-Death".

Another strategy is to keep one or two Zombied characters in your party while one is using Holy Waters and being kept healthier. That way, if Yunalesca decides to cast Mega-Death on a whim, then you aren't as taken by surprise. Use you Zombied character(s) to administer a Phoenix Down, and an X-Potion.

Make sure that your Aeons are all in Overdrive before going into this battle. If you used all of your Overdrives previously with the Sanctuary Keeper, then go back to the dome. This not only gives you a chance to "refuel" your overdrives, but to level up in the process.

If some of these things don't help... I don't know what to tell you. =\

u dun have to heal all your characters from the zombie attack..that would be pointless really...i heal only one or two...actually only because she casts regen on me so i have to lol but the zombie status isnt that much of a problem if you have your aeons on overdrive

The thing is, you don't heal. Her attacks aren't exactly strong (her strongest attack damagewise is Mind Blast which only does 600 to all)

But they can still kill. So... You want to keep some of your characters without Zombie, administering X-Potions when necessary.

You'd have to be very unlucky for any attack to kill even 2 characters at the same time, if there's a risk of that switch someone out and bthen bring them back in.

I just kept my lower HP characters out of the battle, and used them only when need-be, and those were the characters I administered Holy Waters to, while healing with X-Potions. If that's what you mean by switching out, than I had already done that. :3

When ur moving through Zanarkand make sure you use evr1 as much as possible...especially Yuna once the aeons are in overdrive its a walk in the park. as for the characters i keep them in Zombie n pheonix-down when they need. Nyway since Yuna has less Hp than tidus n much less than Auron u shuld never have all three dying at once...

Well... To avoide zombie you have to get zombiepoof. Thats pretty easy.. You need 10 Candle of Life. The way to get, them is pretty easy. You can steal them from the yevon fiends, witch self has Zombie, in the Ruins and Dome of Zanderkand. Then her zombie attack will mean nothing. That makes the first and second times figthing, her easy. Still there is 2 problems. The first is her mega-death that kills all of your party, that haven't zombie. The second is her mind blast, that sometimes confuse all of your party. The Thing I did, was that just before a killed her the second time, I chanced my Amour, with 2 of my characters, to something that haven't zombiepoof. Then I healed them full up. Then one that still had Zombiepoof, was Yuna. Then i killed her for the second time.

She will then start the battle by useing Mega-death. Yuna will die but, the 2 others will live on. Then live up Yuna again. I had then every of my aeons in the overdrives. But at that time i've only had 5 aeons. thats about 50000 in damage. But she had 60000 in HP. I've then started using my overdrives (don't use them earlyer in the battle). When I've done a little more than 10000 in damage, I've started using my aeons. But cast haste on Yuna. That helps. Smile

You only have to use 3 characters to the last battle.

I'm obsessive when it comes to building up my characters. Yuna's aeons were doing so much damage. o.o;;

Zombieproof is a little overkill don't you think? The only time I've ever made that for Yunalesca is in my No Sphere Grid, Rikku Only, No Overdrives file where I needed Zombieproof, Deathproof and Confuse Ward (and yes I did beat her with Rikku's 360 HP). As I've said a few times, just keep your characters zombified reviving them when they get KO'd. With any decent character management, you'll have no problem with the multi-character attacks. BTW you can simply use an aeon to kill the second form to avoid the first mega-death.

I posted this in another topic, don't know what, but I'll repeat it.
Her attack pattern for her third form goes:

Mega-death --> Hellbiter/Curaga/Regen (always at random/limited AI) --> H/C/R --> Mind Blast --> H/C/R --> go to start of cycle

always have 2 zombied characters and one non-zombied. if a characters dies immediately revive with life or phoenix down. use haste THEN reflect. save overdrives for the 3rd form. plain sailing from there!
