Starry's World
Alright, I've seen many great contests before showing off people's looks and video-making abilities, so how about something to show off how smart you people are! Yes this is a quiz contest, but it's not boring.
So I'll be asking a few questions that just make you think for a little bit. I assume you've all been in grade school, but I'll keep the questions "number-free" as much as possible.
Rules:
1.) Give a proper answer. Don't be lazy and answer questions in a few words because I will also be looking for the best answer rather than just the right one. However, this doesn't mean you can ramble as well. My advice will be to talk about "why" for as many questions as possible.
2.)Please do not answer questions that I've already closed. This means that there is a new question now and the old one is over. Doing so will be spamming.
3.) Speaking of spamming, I'll allow minor conversations in this topic as long as it doesn't cloud over where the original question is supposed to be.
4.) To asnwer the question, just post here. Yes I know people can look at your answer, but if you give what I consider a very good answer first, you win the round.
OK, let's start with this one:
You take a ball and throw it in the air. You catch the ball at the same height you threw it with no horizintal change in position. Ask yourself: how does the time of the ball in the air compare with itself when it's going up and falling down? Answer for both "with air resistance" and "without air resistance".

Ah, what the hell.
Gravity is a constant factor and will induce the same force upon the ball the entire time, causing the deceleration and acceleration to be equal. Therefore the amount of time the ball spends traveling up from you hands, and back down to them (assuming you catch it) will be equal. Unless the air is moving then air resistance will also be a constant factor, and also induce the exact same amount of force upon the ball the entire time.
I honestly am not even sure this is right, it's been like 3 years since I've done any kind of physics work...

well...shes right bt XD
and i may be talking out ogf my ass here school was a while ago XD
something about the suns light hitting our atmosphere and the light being absorbed and scattered by smaller ..opr shorter (one of thoseXD) molecules/atoms that absorb the blue light (the larger ones do the other colours but it passes through) so we see thre sky as blue....
as the sun sets it gets further away...so .....the blue light svatters more and more of the red molecules are directly infront of you...so you see red....
so i am either talking out my ass or not XD
i would give it a better try and think about it before i type but
i also do not need the gil prize XD
i just wanted to give it a try XD

Next question:
A girl sleeps in the second floor of her house right beside a window with a tree just outside. One stormy night, the girl looks outside and sees a bright flash. Well, when the lightning flashes, it heats up the air rapidly, creating a kind of a sonic boom... but when you are closer to a sonic boom, the noise is more like a high pitched then when you are far away and hear a low rumble. So, the boom noise was so high pitched that it was outside the frequency that human ears can hear. so the girl did not hear it because she was too close.
