Star Ocean - Till the End of Time
All right, so I started this game a long time ago, and fell in love with it. When I was told that I was going to lose Albel, I procrastinated and leveled, only to return to it later and find the save file was gone.
Anyways...
So my friend said that after the second disc (which I was just about to make it too), the game just went downhill, and that that ending really wasn't that good at all, hardly worth the effort.
I wanted to know what other people thought of the ending (please, don't spoil it), and just what they thought of it overall.
Personally, I loved the game as far as I got into it. It's challenging, keeps you on your feet, with a good catching storyline that was developing real well, unique characters and game overall design, and beautiful graphics and movie scenes.
But I'm sort of afraid of seeing the second disc, in case it ruins all that.

I have only played this a few times but my brother played them and seemed to like them. I for some reason couldn't get into this game.

That's what I was afraid of. You can get Albel a second time.

Some people love the ending, some people hate it. There's one major plot twist that can make or break the story for you. I personally liked it (haven't finished all the way through yet though), but even so, I still thought it was a very odd direction to take the story.

Well the other thing I don't really get with Star Ocean is that I was close to the end of the first disc, and though I knew I was somehow, sometime gonna end up in Vendeeni, there doesn't seem to be any real main antagonist. Kind of annoying when you get used to stuff like Final Fantasy.

Yeah, this game is pretty different in that respect. It's a lot more about accomplishing little goals and the journey there, rather than going after some mad tyrant or such. They do eventually introduce a bigger antagonist after that plot twist I mentioned, but it's still a very vague thing.

Yeah, okay, just making sure. I feel a little more reasurred. I love your sig with the programmer at work part. xD That's awesome.
But at least there will be an antagonist. Cause that's what I'm used to. Damn games, having to be original and all...

There is actually 2 possible endings, as it says in my walkthru guide book xD but one is with Albel and Roger or Nel and Peppita. Both groups comes with different couple scenes for the endings. Plus your gonna need to have chosen all the correct Private Action's so your members would like you more, Emotion Points to be exact. I've never done this cause i was too lazy so i dont know what the differece of the ending is expect that my guidebook says that:
Albel and Roger:
Maria, Roger, Albel, Adray, and the Solo ending
Maria and Peppita:
Sophia, Cliff, Nel, Peppita, Mirage, and the Solo ending.
oh yea and the 2nd disk, I actually thought it was pretty cool. be able to go through the bonus dungeons and fight extra bosses (especially the bosses from Valkyrie Profile).

Well, they didn't mean extras wise. They meant like story wise and all.
I didn't know there were two endings though,
I'll have to see if they knew too. Thanks, now I can shoot for both, right after I beat DMC.

The second disk just gets twisted a bit. Though I actually enjoyed it more from there.
