Sony is really turning me off lately

It seems that the Playstation news is getting even worse. Now they claim that the games will be anywhere from $59 to $99 dollars, so you know that probably means $79 per game. I really do not think that gaming is worth that anymore. There are a lot of better things you can do with your time that are a lot more affordable. Either I am getting older and tired of gaming, or the gaming industry really sucks now.

I think you are right Fun, only cause I am a FF fanatic would I even pay $100 for it! but otherwise I would have a lonely PS3 cause I would only get my FF games!
They are moving to much towards the multi purpose consoles. I mean yes not having to buy a DVD player is a benefit for some people. BUT if you look at why so many people liked SNES was because there focus was on GAMING! not other little bits that revolve around gaming. All their thought went into how they could make better games!

many months ago i learned that PS3 games will be 60 bucks, 59.99 rather. He said don't ding ihim if they go higher because they'll for sure sell for just that price, except maybe games that come with special things, of course. 60 bucks is the price of PS3 games...

It could be cheaper, Sony would only be losing a bit of profit if they sold it for $50, I mean not like they need it anyway. Unless the PS3 graphics are as good as they say, if they are then they would need every bit of money they could get to pump out games that could use the PS3 hardware well enough so that the gamers that play it aren't disspapointed with it.

Well they are 55-30euro here aswell which means thats its about 5-10 dollars more expensive so they make more profit in europe

who said this was going to happen?
my guess was $70 standard minimum, maybe $60 for firstparty PS3 games, and a maximum of around $80 (anything higher would be suicide. guaranteed. $80 people would pay for a 100% assured GREAT GAME.)
the problem is that since the prices of games are going up, the cost to rent a game is also going to go up as well. probably an additional dollar more than the 360 for a 4 day rental.

When you think about it, really games aren't even worth that much. First since they mass produce the disc its like what? a cent for one disc? and then the covers and what not (even if you look at it from us making it) it wouldn't be over $10 no matter what. So basically all the money is gone into the people who create the game. But then! Since the games are sold practically world wide, there's millions and millions of people who buy the games in EACH country. So Haine's pretty sure they wont go Bankrupt if they didn't increase the price in games.
besiiiides games are already nearly $70 USD (new games in canada are about $79.99CAD if its a supper popular game)

Isn't the pricing up to retailers anyway? I've noticed in the last year that some ps2 games (good ones) are at $77 AU, considering that all new games started off over $90. Maybe because the ps2 is getting old or there's greater competition for games now I don't know but it's improvement, lol
It would be good if the crap games were priced lower than the good games. lol
For example...Big Game Hunter would be in the crap pile. Final FAntasy XIII in the good pile...See? If all the poor games are priced high then it only forces the games that DO sell well to be pushed to a higher price, or sustained at maximum price. An example is FFX-2 I bought a year ago. It was $96 (highest price for a ps2 game with no peripherals, really) but it sucked lol.
Well, there will always be platinum games...

i used to think that is true, and it is from the echonomical point of view.
but if games were worth that then ppl would get their hands full n never finish games i think. maybe its got something to do with that.
actually i still think what haine says is true. they are just a BUNCH of idiots that dont believe in or even got the slightest idea of the power and strenght of their markets.
i mean lol i play billions of rpgs and i got only *in* disgaea alone like what 900 hours of gameplay? imagine if they were worth 10$, id be a frigin zombie. but its not more important what id be but how much comision theyd get from ppl that could affoard it if it would cost that.
they dont even need any shiping, they can make em in ev mayor country and distribute them that way.
imagine how much profit theyd win if it was (not 10) but something a bit higher, like 20 or 30 each. then ev would be able to affoard it and they'd be in for a ** huge profit and they wouldnt even believe it i think, right?

It probably has something to do with when you finish again (thus different release dates) that's why on game surveys they ask how long it takes for you to finish a game (estimated) then they know, but for prices? naaah Really why it cost so much is cause of the programmers since they spend hours and hoursx 10000000000 on doing games BUT even though they deserve the money they get, prices still shouldn't be ridiculously high cause the compnay can also lose money this way (that's why people turn to renting games) Cause not everyone can afford them even if they have ps2.
as for the blu-ray disc, well obviously it will be more then that lol Haine knows Haine was talking about regular DVDs BUT they wll be mass producing (and probably in china to so it'll be dead cheap to make) so it STILL shouldn't even be NEAR $100

well of course not... the factory price is always going to be like 80 percent less (more in cases like this) than the consumer's cost
for those blu-ray discs itll prolly be 75 cents max.. at least thats my guess
