most people consider 7-10 the best of the series probably because of the improved graphics over the originals
But something I noticed that most people have is that they love 2 of these the most
You're favorite 2 are VII and IX or VIII and X
i know its not true with all but it seems common
The reason I think this is:
VII and IX have the more classic look as they have many similarities to the first 6. VIII and X have a little more advancement and seem to be much more popular with the new crowds of FF fans rather than those from the Final Fantasy I era.
i never consider it like that...Most people hate FF9 i dont know why but i like how they made a classic final fantasy story like that...FF7 was one of the best FF out there up to now...FF8 was consider as the love love final fantasy and final fantasy 10 was cosidered as one of the most popular final fantasy...im not saying i disagree with the grouping but for me i like FF8 and FF9 to be group together...those two games made a really big impact on how i play games nowadays...
I hate the way people disregard IX. I think it's mainly because of the "kiddish graphics" and the way the game starts out slow w/lots of running around
but the middle part of the game is soooooooo fun the way some chars get left behind etc. i just love the storyline
and the battle system i think was one of the funnest and most challenging w/o leveling

The story line was great yes, but not the best. And it's true that the game kinda boring at the begining but when you reach the second or the third disk it becomes fun to play...

I disagree with you when you said the game is boring at the beggining of the game ...I like it that way and they build the athmosphere and story little by little..

The villain was better, I think so too, but about the story yes it is entertaining, but there was no suspense...
