Something I do not understand about government spending
I have always thought it was odd that when there is a problem that needs to be solved the government says that it costs too much. But then if a new unexpected interest comes along the way, suddenly they are able to devote billions or trillions of dollars to the new project. Couldn't they devote that money to the healthcare of all working citizens? I think the main reason "normal" (as in non-career criminals) people do crimes is because you have to work hard for little pay and less benefits. They should make those who are law abiding citizens receive special privileges. That would motivate people to work harder and enjoy their job.

yeah, i think i know what you mean, in holland for instance, the avarage police officer wont get a lot of money, even though it's one of the most important jobs you need to keep people from comitting crimes
i never got why they can't give them a better paycheck, to make the job more atractive for others
though i presume holland isn't as bad as the usa right now, cause they made quite a lot of money to pay back debts they had, where the usa still needs to sponsor their wars...

You got a good point there FuN!
It realy annoys me that governments will spend billions apon billions of Pounds and Dollars on something like Space, exploration and understanding of space!
Dont you think we have enough problems on our own little planet before pi$$ing about up there?

I remember saying the exact same thing about eight years ago Gary but then someone told me that space exploration is the key to science in developing technology to fight cancer and stuff. I always thought they just floated around up there but what they are doing is important Plus I wouldn't be surprised if the Earth's life expectancy is lower than we are told so that is why they are trying to move to Mars. I wonder why it is taking them so long to go there. The main reason is because the astronauts say that they will be gone for so long but heck just give me internet access and I will volunteer to leave earth

i actually wouldn't mind spending money on space, cause putting money in that also means putting money in research, like better engines to the spaceshuttle, and other things that could be used in both space and here
where would we be without comunication satalites?
but spending even more money on a practicly useless war makes no sense to me

yeah, too much money seems to be wasted many times on people who dont need or deserve it.
and those daft research things people get paid for to find out things we already know are such a waste of time and money.

What can they be doing that is helping with cancer?
unless the being in space breaks down the specific cell structure of the cancer?

I herd bleach or something in bleach heps to get rid of cancer cells and such....
Anyways, our debt is over a trillion dollars here int the U.S.
From borrowing money from other governments/countries.....
And what are we spending it on?
Bull shiite that doesn't really help to many citizens from what I've seen....
Like how much is it costing them to send troops over to fight a pointless war?
Alot I'm almost positive about...

actually, while i was in canada i had discovery channel on the tv in the motel rooms, the main reasons they haven't gone to mars yet is because:
A) the ship needs to be a lot bigger as a spaceshuttle, and the body will get used of no gravaty for too long, and makes the muscles weaker, to create artificial gravaty they'd need to spin the ship, or create a machine they'd need to use for a certain amount of time to train the muscles
next point
b) the landing, so far they've been sending robots, and coming from the sky with a different gravaty they were able to put some parashutes, and then let the crash be taken by some things filled with air, obviously that sort of thing can't be done when you're talking about human lives (weaklings <.< )
c) there are sandstorms on mars that can cover the entire planet for months which would make staying there a lot harder
and they had a few other points which i forgot... so it's not realy that easy
but they were already planning it for the next few years or so
and if i remember correctly, some of the equipment they developed for space travel are used in our houses right now, without us knowing it, so it's not realy useless
(thank god we wont get their tubed food XD )

Yeah I think I watched that same program since they air it on the discovery channel everyday However the main reason was due to astronauts not willing to take the long journey from home since they said it would take years to get there and back.

yeah, the government's dumb. You should see the sign for entering Illinois from Wisconsin where i live. It's a cardboard sign that says, "Welcome to Illinois! The best government money can buy." It's funny cause we're bankrupt.
