So, the Final Fantasy 13-2 Demo Hit The PSN and XBL today...
I am playing the PS3 demo, and so far....It's amazing. It is like everything FF13 should have been, in terms of gameplay.
IMPROVEMENTS BEING-
- Party leader dies? NO PROBLEM! Switch to the next guy!
- Able to switch leaders IN BATTLE.
- Paradigm shifts don't interrupt the flow, and you are not vulnerable to attack.
- The battles are now..Random, but, still have that FF13/12 ability to run past.
- Preemptive strikes are determined by how fast you attack an enemy before battle. You press "X" (I am guessing, "A" on 360.), and you slash it with your sword. This will give you a preemptive, and the faster you do it, the better. Running in to an enemy normaly does not have a preemptive bonus.
-For me, the Crystalrium is simplified, and only has one path, but, you choose which role to upgrade. For instance, you have enough CP to get to eh next ORB (if you dont have enough CP, you don't go down the path like in 13, if you have enough CP, you just go to the next ORB.), then you just choose "Com", "Rav", or "Sent" to upgrade. And it gives you abilities based on which you choose for that role. When you level up a crystlarium, you have the option to improve your ATB (like in 13, adds another, I am guessing.), have a bonus in a certain role, learn a new role.
-There appear to be Side Quests in the game. I talked to an NPC that said a Ce'ith was found, and I offered to take him out. Another NPC said they are missing Capsules, that hold a dangerous substance, and I told him I would retrieve them. Both of these are totally optional, so i assume the whole game could be filled with side quests like these!
CONS-
-I am still skeptical on the story....
-Mog is kind of annoying.
-It appears that Noel and Serah are the only 2 human party members, not sure if this will change or not.
That is all I can think of, for right now. So, overall, this game is GREATLY improved, IMO, over FF13. Its free0- Try it out yourselves!

The new Crystarium doesn't sound particularly entertaining to me, I like a more complex system and actually didn't find the old one too bad. The Party Leader death thing is pretty annoying, especially if something had instadeath moves, however, now the game is easier T_T, or it least it seems like that. Hopefully, they up the difficulty because of this now
The Preemptive system reminds me of quite a lot of games, and those games I liked
Elaborate on the Random battles.

I wasn't listing the monsters as a con, as party members. I was stating that Noel and Serah seem to be the only 2 Human party members...But, it looks like it will be like FF13, where you play specific characters for specific scenarios.
And I don't see the Party Leader death Game Over thing as adding difficulty, just adding something that doesn't even make sense. I don't see a game more 'challenging' because the AI doesn't feel like Healing your Party Leader before themselves.
The gameplay is a total improvement over FF13. And the Random Battle system is innovative.

I've always liked the random battle encounters, a feature incorporated in the older final fantasy games, last seen in x-2.
Also the levelling-up system in XIII was way too linear for my liking, (personally coming from the realm of X).

I have downloaded the demo last night and can respectfully say;
--> Graphics are amazing as always, especially when looking at the monsters and scenery. The incorporated raindrop effect in one of the areas was pretty awesome.
--> Perhaps it's me, but 13-2 looks as if it's taken a turn to time travel and space. Which is great, IMO.
--> The levelling up system doesn't look as linear as 13 did, and the 3D looking space background looks awesome.
--> I don't know if any of you guys attempted the step puzzle in the demo, but i found it to be great fun (turning on the machine to damage Atlas). It also seems that the guards hand out hunting missions for extra reward.
--> The title music and other tracks played within the demo was as wonderful as the others too.
--> All in all, the game is a must buy, and seems to be an improvement from 13. The question is, how much of an improvement.

It looks like better game  played a bit earlier camera was retarded lol
seems a bit wierd having "pets" so to say in battle with you makes things more complicated might be good for some players like Mgold said he likes complexity XD
i do think the game should pause whie switching leaders and there roles lol, i always die before i manage to click healer on
