So tell me...
Can you get any of the Final Fantasy games for PC and if so which one should I play first? I never hear anything about the first 6 games, only VII plus.

So any particular reason why you would want to play the old versions?

The first 6 were on Nintendo, and SNES only. FFV was not even released int the US until Final Fantasy Anthologies and Final Fantasy Origins, and Final Fantasy Chronicles came out for PS1 ... you can buy FFVII for PC, along with FFVIII. Not sure about FFIX, but there is a good chance. Emmulators are the best. The rules say, that if you do not own the game in real life, it is illegal to download them. So.. the choice is up to you. I played them all. On emmulator and on PS1 ... I would reccomend the PS1 versions... then you don't have to worry about any of the legal hassles.

The official releases for PC are FFVII, FFVIII, and FFXI.
Everything else is available for PS2 except FFIII which was never released in the US.
If you are serious about playing I-VI, I would highly recommend getting a PS2 (as was recommended by Final7C). The graphics for FFI-II are actually quite good, in fact they are better that the PS2 versions of IV, V, & VI, since IV, V, & VI were pretty much straight ports of the SNES versions whereas I & II were remakes that took advantage of the better hardware so the color palettes are a bit more vibrant and the spell effects look much better.
If you are really serious about playing all of them you can also get a translated version of FFIII for use with an emulator (such as jnes).
