No it wasn't, it was too hard to play without one or two more people. The boss at the beginning is incredibly tough if you don't have someone else. Plus, it just wasn't loved by many people.
And it is kind of easy to call this the best non-FF related game, considering it is the only break off from the FF series in general.
X-2 was directly linked to X.
Dirge of Cerberus was directly related to FFVII.
They could of improved the original a lot, by not assuming that everybody had a buddy that would want to constantly play the game with them.
Plus, the story didn't really draw me in. It was just so bland. It felt like I played a game with the exact same storyline before except with different names and places.

actually i dont know about some of you, but i think that Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles is a great game, although it doesnt have much storyline. all it tells you about is the poisonous air in the world, your mission to the special crystal tree-things, and a little about your family in the game. i dont have the cable to link my gamecube and my gameboy advance, so i cant say anything on multiplayer.
I am not a big fan of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. It doesn’t share much similarity with the original Final Fantasy series; the entire system is different. Difference sometimes can be good, I am aware of that, but for FF:CC it was very bad. I was expecting more of this game than I got; it doesn’t have that high level of quality other Final Fantasies have.
What irritates me the most is the story; it has no depth. All of the games in the main series have very deep stories with several twists that share the same unique epic lines. The audio and sound are both major disappointment. I have nothing to say about the characters except they were just okay, and I am saying this not because of the graphics, I don’t care much about the graphics, but because of the characters themselves.
It’s not entirely horrible, it has some good sides in it, but speaking of those will prove that it doesn’t belong with the Final Fantasy series.
From what I understand is that Crystal Chronicles was one of the biggest flops in the Final fantasy series but I never played it because I never had a gamecube.
I disagree. It is a sub-series of Final Fantasy and doesn't need to be like the main series. It's also quite hard to have an in-depth storyline for a game which is supposed to be played with more than one player. If you want a more in-depth storyline then play CC: Ring of Fates on DS. That one is designed for more storyline and not-so-much multiplayer.

Even if it’s a sub-series; it’s still a part of Final Fantasy series, simply because it carries the name ‘Final Fantasy’; it does need to share more similarity with the main series. Final Fantasy VII’s sub-games are a very good example. This is my personal opinion, you may disagree and that’s your opinion to have.
The one I played already presented a sufficient idea for me, I am not willing to try another game who maybe slightly different.

My country lay within a vast desert. When the sun rose into the sky, a burning wind punished my lands, searing the world. And when the moon climbed into the dark of night, a frigid gale pierced our homes. No matter when it came, the wind carried the same thing. Death. But the winds that blew across the green fields of Hyrule brought something other than suffering and ruin. I coveted that wind, I suppose." ~ Ganondorf.

That looks pretty cool. The airship looks a lot like the ones in XII and the other game based in the same world (FFTA 2). I hope it's not going to end up becoming a sub-species of FF XII like FFTA 2 did. Then again, it could be argued FF XII is based on FFTA's world since FFTA came out before XII and both have Montblanc.

That’s one of the many reasons I don’t like it, it’s not something I like in video games; I hate playing an RPG with anyone, one player works just fine with me, but multi-players doesn’t work. Some people may like this feature, and thus they like the game, but not in my situation.
