In the castle at the beginning the king gives you a bomb ring but in the snes version it is a package.
In the GBA version there is new stuff such as.
Characters have new moves for instance.
Cecil (SNES):

White Magic
Cover.
Cecil (GBA):

the one thing i hate the most about this world is:
they say this is a free country, but there are rules so it is not a free country |

I know some differences:
1. In the Snes version, Tellah's ultimate magic is called Meteo. In the GBA version, it's called Meteor.
2. In the Snes version, Edward has an ability called Medicine. In the GBA version, it's called Heal.
3. In the Snes version, Golbez doesn't have a picture when he's talking. In the GBA version, he does have one.
4. The names of the elemental lords have changed.
5. Rubicant (Rubicante in GBA) didn't absorb ice when he was hiding in his cloak on the Snes. In GBA, he does.

More differences:
1. In Snes, they have used names like cure, cure 2, and cure 3. In GBA, they use names like cure, cura, and curaga.
2. They have added a cure 4 spell called curaja (In some Snes versions there is a cure 4, but in the one i played there wasn't )
3. The Trap Doors in the underground in some cave (I forgot the name) have gotten more hit points.
4. The monsters in the same cave which i was talking about in number 3 give less exp as in the Snes version
5. I'm not sure if this is a new thing, but in the upper left corner of the Underground is a new cave with new monsters (Well, i think it is a new one because i didn't see it in the Snes version)

First of all, I play Final Fantasy IV in Japanese, which is this game, just BETTER because it's in the REAL, ORIGINAL language.
Well, anyways, enough nationalism, I don't know why Square messed up this game in English. Because in the Japanese GBA version I have:
1. Meteo is called meteo. Sure, you could READ メテオ as meteo or meteor, but the correct pronunciation is meteo.
2. Edward (that isn't his real name, by the way) has the ability 薬〔クスリ〕, which means quite exactly MEDICINE. Why they changed it only in the English version...I don't know, but I can ask a poor woman working for Service in Square over and over until I get an answer....
3. And of course, Flare is Flare in Japanese, spelled フレア, pronounced furea (the e is not pronounced like an i!).
In other words, I think Square Enix is trying to screw with America.
