It wasn't the heels that bugged me it was that Frans ass was showing and the largest pieces of cloth on her outfit were sleeves that served no purpose other than to be the largest piece of cloth.
my opinion is that its a type of media and sex sells.
moving on, im curious as to your opinion of ffx-2 tifa. because that whole game was based on 3 strippers. and its my personal opinion that they chainged the characters into that for many a fanboy.
Oh I totally agree that game was made for fan service and its starting to get on my nerves and its not just the skimpy clothes that really tick me off its the fact that all the girl's in the games are too perfect the guys too for that matter they talk about wanting more realistic characters then give them bed head or some type of blemish or something grrrr.... I'm just sick of popping in a game claiming to have realistic graphics but all the female characters have flawless skin, perfect hair, are 6ft something, and have hourglass figures and I want a male character that looks like a guy. I've been playing FFXII for awhile and its ticking me off that the only characters with any fat are the Seeq

If you did some of the hunts...I forget what this one was called but you get called to help a bunny lady kill something because she has a bad leg and its to fast for her. Its a right of passage for them if I remember right.
ok um...to be perfectly honest i prefer having to look at pretty and good looking characters instead of some 'real' ones...maybe this sounds shallow and not really nice but i dont really care...its a game, not real life...which means there can be perfect girls and guys....and i want them to be like that....and if they are dressed poorly, who cares as long as they look good in it...you dont play the game to see 'real' characters...if you wanna see that go out and look at ppl, dont sit inside playing
Well I cant say it bothered me so much they were dressed that way exactly. You will always find women dressed like that in games. The thing that bothered me was they were dressed that way AND trying to sell them off as great hunters....no...Im sorry XD you dont hunt anything well half naked in heels XD
Quite wrong. They're anthropomorphic. Humans would never hunt in heels, but morphologically speaking, Viera don't use heels to be taller, they use heels to be able to walk. Their feet are naturally risen to that height. You can tell because of the form of their heel and the overall size of the foot. Nobody would walk with feet that size. They would move like lycanthropes, A.K.A. on the tip of their feet, and crouching over like animals. They're made for balance.
Those clothes aren't really "slutty" to me. At all. Trying not to offend anyone, but if you got distracted in-game with Fran's clothes than you're seriously a helpless virgin. Those clothes described battle-ready to me. Saying a hunter doesn't have to run is as ignorant as saying a "Bo" is a long-ranged weapon because they saw it in a game. They do have to run, and I would guess they would still run with the heels. I mean, Fran DOES run through the whole game with them doesn't she? The clothes are perfect. They're not hindring, they're light, funcional, and extremely usefull in close combat with animals. If you notice, the heavier parts of the armour are around the legs, the arms and the head. These three parts are usually the first pick for an animal to attack (i.e. legs for smaller animals to bring their prey down, where they can consume them, arms with mid-sized animals, like wolves, to prevent the prey to fight back, and head to bigger animals for a quick death, and easy meal).
Not mentioning all the obvious facts, I just love Fran. I can't say that she is ugly, she's very well designed, but to distract one from playing is...extremely ridiculous.
And I'll have to agree with a Post I read here. Viera didn't just "appear" out of the blue in Final Fantasy XII, there were previous appearances. In Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, they still looked pretty. In Final Fantasy XII the real "WTF" race isn't Viera, it's Seeqs. Where the F did they come from? I don't remember them from the Ivalice in FFTA. Come to think of it, I don't remember Rabanastre...oh wait...Yeah! The whole F'ing game is different! Stupid Enix. *digresses*
Im not tryin to trash Fran shes actually my 2nd favorite character but lets be honest square didnt build the bunnies and decide to put them in heels and those outfits for them to be battle appropriate. I dont actually see anything wrong with Fran's feet other then yes they are a bit big but I dunno how heels will help you there. You make good points though that their feet might actually be that height I dont know I never considered it. Even if they were I would think something like a boot that was raised at the heel would be more effective then balancing, running and fighting on two spiked points. Its not like Im here just to pick on fran games arent really known for making anyone in them dressed for battle so much. There are a few exceptions of course but I dont think I would go rushing into that many fights with so much skin and my midrif exposed. They are dressed that way to look sexy and thats fine why shouldnt they be? I still just dont think that if this race really existed they would dress that way to be hunters it just doesnt make any sense XD

Well even though you're right about the heels, you're also right about the boots. Vieras didn't start in FFXII, they made their first appearance in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and some of them DID wear high heel boots, like the Fencers for example.

Different continents. If you play FFTA 2 (Seeq included in hte game) there are mentions of other continents. You also seem to have missed the fact that Montblanc is in FF XII as the Clan Master.
