It is in a sense. But that love might not last till the next world, if you believe that.

And its never late to ask, in case you're wondering. Thats why there are things called miracles.
1 - Chances are, the God of this world - if he is 'real' - will have nothing to do with the next world I believe in *shrugs*
2 - That depends. In the situation where I could've asked him for help, it was a matter of life and death - No-one can bring back the dead in this world. Anyway, it's not a question I want to discuss.
That may just be because you are the head of the Funender Garden, and I played 2 professor characters, so you seem like my boss now permanently in my mind. XD
Thats fine, I was just wondering. Coz protestants do share a lot with Catholics, but there are differences in terms of classification of saints, the position of Virgin Mary and the views that are sometimes taken on important issues.
i never understood whats the deal with the differentiation...you either believe in God or you don't...why make a deal out of how to perform some rituals and things like this...
Its not just about rituals..... Sometimes it is a lot about that, but in some Catholic circles they do believe Mary to be the same as, or even greater than Jesus. Whereas most Protestants believe Jesus was God, and Mary was a mere human.

this is why i chose not to belong to any religion...too many differencies...you cant prove anything of it anyway...yes i know religion is about belief but still...i think its kinda pointless making such a big deal out of it..especially when it comes to rituals

No, actually my friend, we do not believe that Mary is the same or greater then Jesus. We believe that she was human. We honor her, we do not worship her. We honor her because we believe she found favor with God, and had the blessing and honor to bear His one and only beloved Son.
Right, that does help to clear stuff up. But forgiveness of sins is by grace, ie you can't do anything to earn your way to salvation, right?
And Shandris, that wasn't exactly a main point. But if there was a God, and he was absolute, surely you'd want to do what he says to the word, rather than not knowing?

If you think that is bad have you heard about the school teacher they wanted executed for allowing her students to name a teddy bear Muhammad? She is currently serving 15 days in prison for that now.

I think this is where it gets very complicated and the protestant and Catholic faiths start to differ.....we believe there is always a way to earn your selvation, yes, we believe in grace, and it can help forgive sins....but our believe that the main way to be forgiven of sins is by confession.
I was raised as a catholic like pretty much everyone where I live. Went to catholic schools etc but no one I knew was ever really religious lol. I think it was the whole 'kneel, sit, stand, kneel, stand, kneel, sit' procedure on the hard wood which turned people off.
I'm not religious at all and don't really know anyone in my city who is either. It's only the elderly who do go to church by the looks of it.

Yeah, thats what is quite important to Protestants I think, since we view confession as something to be done after we have received forgiveness trhough grace, to remind us that we don't actually deserve what we received by Jesus' death.
But does that mean that unless you confess every single sin, you won't be forgiven or go to heaven?

No, we believe that to make a true and good confession, examine your conscience, everytime. Then go and confess all the sins you can remember. Don't hold anything back and if you are sincere, and are truly sorry, you will be forgiven of those sins. So you have to confess every single sin you remember comiting basically. If you miss some because you do not remember them, then that's o.k.....as long as they are venial. If they are mortal...it's advised not to forget about it, but go to confession and confess it as soon as possible.
