Red Alert 3
So, anyone own this game already? I've been waiting for years for this game, as a fan of Command & Conquer series (never missed one ^^). I was planning to get it, well if its requirements not as high as Far Cry 2's.

i'd love to try this game, i'm a huuuuge fan of RA2, it's their best (i've played) so far, lol
they screwed up with generals...
so i hope they improved it in RA3

I think they did. I heard there was a tank with both mirage and prism tank ability, but not as wacko as the old prism tank's power.

I think they really improved the infantry units for this game, something like Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars, each unit has several skills or modes..allowing them to take full advantage over the battlefield's surroundings.
I think they're pretty hard to control but maybe once we get used to it, shouldn't be much of a problem. Other than that, cool graphics.

so they took that from generals?
i quite liked that feature actually...
gave more strategy to the units you build, in other (older) RTS games infantry was canon fodder for your tanks XD

Wohoo, played the game at last. Finished the Soviet story missions, now playing the Allied story missions. Lol, most units are still here...like Tanya, mirage tank, Attack Dog, Dolphins, etc. Mirage tank attacks like Prism tank now, except that its range is very short.
Quite true about each units has their new additional feature, but once we get used with the hotkeys it'll be easy.
They introduced a new power here, besides the soviets and Allied...its the nation with the rising sun, Japan. Spoiler is some basic intro.

i was going to get it
then i found out that it has DRM on it that prevents you from isntalling it more than 3 times.
F'K that if im buying a game, i should be able to play it how i want!

they don't have to notify you of that.
i read about in a magaziene before it came out
you can call them, and ASK them to give you another install. but essentially that means after the 3rd install, if you want to install it again it has to be OK with EA for you to do it. and if they say 'no' well then you better go buy another copy of the game cause you don't own it anymore.
its pretty much the reason im boycotting any game EA makes, and any game that supports this insulting DRM. ill miss out on some good ones, but i cannot watch the future of PC gaming get destroyed by a company that is pissing off customers just because some pirates (who crack the DRM and can install it as much as they want)
i dident own Bioshock on the PC (as it had this same thing) until it removed the DRM last august. and i'll wait until they remove it from the current games.
i believe almost every EA game that has come out since September includes this DRM. Spore, Red Alert, Dead Space, Farcry 2, Crysis Warhead, they ALL have it.
worst part about it... a magaziene asked EA about how long this would go on, and about the boycotts, apparently EA thinks that the only people annoyed buy the DRM are pirates or idiots.
[Note]*, EA owns Bioware... im going to cry myself to sleep if there is DRM on Dragonage... cant imagine DRM on the Bioware Starwars MMO though.

i mean, what would happen when you leave the game for a few years, and wanna pick it up again, but it's your 4th instalation, so you can't?
and by that time, the support will be low

yah it really sucks. it sucks even harder because EA is somehow a leader in the industry and other companies are starting to fall in behind them and do the same thing. so its not just EA games you need to be afraid of, but rather any game.
and yes, people who would have normally bought the game are instead pirating the game instead. that is why EA just announced that they are having a record low holiday season. and apparently they cant make the connection between Unethical business practices and low sales.
dont bother e-mailing them, they think that anyone who disagrees with them is a pirate.
what pisses me off the most is that what they are doing is KILLING PC gaming.
[edit] AWW HELL Rockband is owned by EA... DAMNIT this boycott is going to be rough.
