You can play most FF games on the PS2 so if you are missing any FF games, I always suggest some of those, I mean they are good ol' PSX games, but they play on the PS2.
But also I played the a game called Starocean or something like that and I liked it seemed to have a great storyline. I always got the crappy ending though.
Avoid Phantasy Star because as far as a one person game goes it is aweful. But I mean if you have like the ability to hook your PS2 up to the internet, then it has the potential to be great with lots of character customization features and the like. But I wouldn't know because at the time I had no clue how to hook up a console to the internet.
Lets see lets see what else what else...there was some dragon game or something can't quite remember the name.
Ugh.
Yeah. My mind is kooky crazy right now a friend just blew my mind yesterday with some crazy talk so it could have destroyed my memory.
AH! How could I forget?
I suggest both of the Disgaea games. They are so... freaking... awesome.
If you like strategy rpgs that is.
The gamers of the world voted Grand Theft Auto...
-.-
I disagree.
I suggest Kingdom Hearts if you haven't got it already and KH2.
Both = Awesome.
back to the dragon thing...
Ah, that is what it was... Dragon Quest VIII. I played it before it is freaking amazingly awesome, or it was for the bit that I played it...
Sadly I can't think of any with my favorite feature of all: Character Creation.
It is so hard to find good games with Character Creation...

i agree, DQ8 was a FANTASTIC game. I loved every drop of its story and grind heavy gameplay (If you want to max out your characters, prepare to invest 40 hours of straight up King Metal Slime hunting in the dragon graveyard... At least...
And that secret ending after the seperate bits to do at the end.. sorry that's the only way my drunk head can say it without a spoiler..
love you xxxxxxx

It's not fun if you just power level your characters like that. -.-

no but it's a time killer, which is what i need at the moment.
and DQVIII is really fun, i never finished it though, and then my disck got badly scratched, and i have beaten both KH games, I played starocean when i was younger, and i remember it being really fun ( kinda remeinded me of wild arms at that time for some reason) and i did not like phantasy star that much when i played. I never tried the Disgaea games so i will see into those. Thx people!
Oh and DP
I love you too. xoxoxo and if it didn't count me, wel then i still love you! XD

Never ask a question that you aren't entirely sure that you want to know the answer.

If you like those IT action RPGs then go for Hack G.U series (3 of them I think), if you prefer sci-fi based RPGs, then Xenosaga and Star of Ocean is a good choice.
If you're looking for RPGs like Final Fantasy, perhaps better than FF - then go for Tales of Abyss (I'm sure they still have it for PS2). You won't regret purchasing the game.
Chrono Cross was good, was developed by squaresoft I think. And if you can withstand kiddy type of games, then you might consider Kingdom Hearts I and II. That game has a couple of FF characters inside (Squall/Leon, Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth, Aeris, Auron, etc).
