Psychology Literature Review
well i have to write a literature review and i'm so confused >.<
my question is:
Explain, using experimental evidence, the part which 'fast mapping' plays in children’s' acquisition of language meaning
Now i don't really know where to start 
has anyone got any advice on writing a review or answering my question?

The key word there is "empirical" which is synonymous with "objective" if it was based upon one's own individual experiences then it would be /subjective/ and therefore not empirical.
At the very least, when we talk about experimental in psychology, we are talking about results from research and laboratory studies that directly observe the behaviors that they are intended to predict.

Doesn't need to be just a lab. It could have been a naturalistic study done in the environmental setting. But the validity is highly in question if you base it just on one person's evaluations of the environment. Psychology is a social science now, and must behave as a science does.

I had a big long statement about human behavior and i deleted it.
Because even after re-writing it 50 times to make it not sound offensive, it still sounded mean. And then i posted it anyways.
and now i'm just getting rid of it because i don't want to start a fight over something that stupid.
But either way, no, i don't know how to help Sparxy, sorry.

I know why you would get so passionate about it. I am of the disposition that psychology shouldn't be purely scientific. There are some parts of psychology that should be more of a philosophy or an art. And indeed, those parts still exist in psychology as a field.
However, when people are talking about "experimental psychology", they aren't talking about such things. They are talking about the scientific and empirical studies and research done; a vital part of psychology and currently, for better or for worse, the part of psychology that is considered the /only/ real psychology by the majority of people.

I wasn't "passionate" i was "logical". But the logical explanation sounded very much "This is what it is and you're dumb, so ha", no matter how many times i tried to make it sound more like "Ok..... this is what i know.....".
