if you like need for speed id suggest burnout paradise. its pretty cheap now and they have a ton of dlc you can get for it now.
also, i second uncharted and uncharted 2
and if you want something a little different, maybe rent Heavy Rain. i wouldnt tell anyone to buy it unless they were already interested. but you should experience it for sure.
killzone 2 is a solid shooter and the multiplayer is still strong.
everything from there on is multiplatform really.

lets be honest though, fallout 3 is not a shooter lol. you really can't play the game without using their vat system or whatever its called.
that being said, if you havent played it elseware, there is a game of the year edition with all the dlc which is totally worth it.

It's hard to describe but it like a hack and slash but it's a rpg and you can choose between many different weapons from daggers and maces to swords and axes and even two handed hammers, axes and swords
It is a good game but if you want to try it before you buy it by renting it

yes it is kinda like a hack n slash rpg
you ccreate your own character
however you want them to be
and you have a main storyline and a HUGE world to explore
and a hell of a lot of side quests
whatever you are thinking
there are more XD
