blizzard doesnt need the put anything on a console. they know what they are doing with the pc games and they will stick with it is my guess.

Well its a really good stsyem for comps that acually is ran for game servers, those game servers that dont crash are ran by linux,it is real easy and good and never messes uop unless its you,unlike windows which constanly needs updates and crshes constantly,by the way im using linux . Thor i agrre but im getting PS3 for games and now that i now thanks form you i might use its open soucre thing

err.. a few games can use linux as a dedicated host.. not many can play games under linux.
Linux is mainly for the Non-gamer that cant buy a brand-spanking new computer and still wants power from their old machiene. its 100% free, its EXTREMELY secure (no viruses or hackers) and is difficult to break (its still possible, but harder)
so if you arent a video-gamer, and you just browse the web, do homework, email, IM, Documents, Art, basicly everything BUT gaming. then Linux is for you, but if you are a gamer, then windows.
a non-gamer on windows makes little sense as linux really is a better alternative.

i had 1 huge problem some time ago with linux...
my dad bought a HP computer and linux came with it automaticly.
but i couldnt instal my modem, i had a USB modem and the files on the disk were windows only :S
kinda sucked, and linux was terrible to get of the hardrive...
ahh well, now we're using windows again, so i can play games... though i need to say: linux had some good games already in the OS, like windows has a pinball etc, they had nicer ones...
like chess, and those bubble shooters, and a turn-based strategy game...

linux dident support broadcom chipsets until Ubuntu 6.10 and Kernel 2.6.19 (latest)
what is broadcom?
broadcom is the most popular add-in networking hardware. so many devices that you would plug-in or add in would use the Broadcom networking chipset.
there were ways around this, but now that it is supported, it should work as soon as you plug it in without any kind of software to install.
linux has come leaps and bounds this past year. i think linux has come farther in 2006 then it has in any other year yet, and 2007 is looking to do even better.

Yeah you cant play lots of games on reguler linux,but my dad is going to install a prograam on my comp so i can run windows in linux and play video games on windows,but not all of them.You can still play flash games and games on lego.com and runescape on Linux.Also Runescape is ran on a linux server and it didnt work once probably cuse they where finishing the update or restarting the server.
