PS2 Slimline product recall

Hey I just went to the Sony Australia website andfound out that any slimline PS2's bought late last year had a problem with the AC adaptor, like they said it caused overheating problems. Anyway I entered in my AC details and mine is one of the affected products!! Is there a similar announcement where you guys live?

Damn, the holidays start in 3 days and I have to wait up to 2 weeks deivery for the new part...Or should I keep playing with this "Affected" ac adaptor?

Something similar happened with the Xbox adapter as well. I bet the next gen consoles will have really thick insulated wires Razz

Yeah, I saw an announcement about it yesterday on the news here in the US. They said there were reports of the adaptors causing property damage and shocking people. I wouldn't use it if I were you.

lol, oh well...I guess this would be the perfect opportunity to blow the dust off my Cube. I never finished some games like Metroid for example *sigh*, so much for my FFX-2 re run.

They had a poll on G4 on how Metroid Prime was one of the games that not many people have completed Smile

It's boring. Like. When you start the game, its just you on this werid space station and you shoot these bugs for no reason.

I think you have to be a fan of the previous games, and know the character's backstory, to really enjoy Metroid Prime. It's a good game on it's own... but a lot of the story scattered around the game is based on story elements that were only in the manuals of previous games or other sources besides the games themselves.

There's always going to be problems with consoles and their components. I still have a non working ps2 one of the original models released, with the laser problem. The warrenty on it was void because some idiot decide to cut the little piece of paper and pop it open, I think I paid like 300 for it.

i went though 3 PS2's before i decided to not buy another. decided to cut my losses short.

my xbox had a problem. a shot Network card. sold it to a friend who didnet have internet for $80 and bought a new one.

my gamecube has neve had a problem, and of all the consoles i've done alot of beatings to the GC. Ex. Dropping, throwing, steping on, Powerfailure on a non protected power strip.

the GC is well built i must say.

I have never owned a GC but there was a thing on G4's X Play on what system can take the most beatings GC won they can survive a 2nd story fall and still play games which is kinda cool Twisted Evil

Fun had a link to that video on this site.

i was very interesing, i always kinda guessed the outcome of the PS2 dieing off fist, but i never would have guessed that the GC could take that much of a licking and keep on ticking.

LOL i also i wonder if the Xbox's faceplate was still attached if it would have worked or not? i would have guessed it would have, but hey, losing the faceplate is definately enough to make it disqualified!

<-- Dropped his GC from over 6ft 3 times.

its stupidly ontop of my HUGE TV, and i dont have a wireless controller... yaaah, it still works too, nintendo made a VERY sturdy product.
