Well, she isn't at the age where looks matter as much I think.... The real challenge is when they hit their teens.....
Cable's right there, most problems with that start between age 12-14 or so ^^

I do too. Foodīs just awesome, and if you live a normal life, you wonīt get fat unless you eat as much as three peopleīs worth (or at least I donīt gain weight, even though I donīt move much; guess that changes when you become older)
Another good thing is to remain fit, walking, jogging, going to a gym or whatever. Not that I like it much but it helps
sound advice...a bit of self control, some common sense and good parenting at an early age can make all the difference.

It does but back to the cartoon alot of cartoon geared toward girls just reaching their teens are like that the main character females are always like size -2 with big breasts and medium hips and are supposed to look drop dead gorgeous whereas anyone who is even remotely overweight is either bedridden, old, evil, a comedy relief character, or in the back ground (same for movies and TV shows)
Hahaha! If something every rang so true as that. But I think a lot of the prejudice doesn't come from guys, but moreover girls. I mean when guys say that a girl is attractive, or to someone "You look nice today." the girls who are on the path to anorexia already don't believe them. I mean, these girls started out on the pessimistic-depressed side already (as Anorexia and Clinical Depression go hand in hand). I mean even the media, in my opinion, is getting a little better at showing more curvatious woman, or at least girls that I couldn't snap like a twig. Now all that needs to catch up is the modeling world....
I don't even find myself to barely any models, the skinny thing just is not a turn on for me.
Does a 30-minute walk to uni and back count as exercise?

yea i agree im a bigger girl too and i hate it when ur with a guy and hes like hey you'd look better if u lost a lil weight and then leaves u anyway for a twig! i mean cmon there not everything? ntm they make better cloths for skinnier girls with perfect complexions i mean i do have a large chest and such *coughs* so i have to wear bigger cloths anyway! i wanna lose a lil weight thou so i dont get diabetes like my mom.....or anything else like that but not like those twigs just like 50 pounds cuz i weigh like 260 i knw its not horrible since im 5"5 but i still need to lose a lil but nothing like those other girls but then again i might just think like that cuz of the horrible guyz ive dated that constantly put me down but who knws y im so negative and self-councious about my body......
Absolutely gross. Every girl has her own beauty. "Models" are just girls that are emphasized by the media. I don't know who set those standards, but they aren't everything.
If you ask me, the media is wrong for saying 'skin and bones are best' but girls are wrong for letting it get to them...
Beauty can only be defined as the essence you hold, and not by the appearence you give...
