Confused ?
(Written February ’89 = age 22)
Day ends and the night surrounds my form
My thoughts are constant
But my mind is scattered
What is it in me that makes me so open
What is it in you that takes me so strongly
I don’t understand these feelings…
I am cautious with all footsteps
But I find myself blinded on the cliff’s edge
Knowing all the time the great fall beside me
I run with a smile
Is this the reality of my new patterns growing
Or is it the strength I see in your eyes
Is it a weakening of defenses
Or could it be an illusion of desires
I find that I can’t even express the emotion
My words seem like drips instead of currents
Am I the fool
Am I missing some piece of the great puzzle
It seems weird…
I don’t know anything, but I am deeply touched by the knowledge
What I see when I look into your eyes
The way I feel when our auras meet in passing
How lost can I be
My way is of strength, my breath is of earth
I am brother to the land and water…
But I am confused
I rely on my instincts, I survive with caution, but I grow with chances
Should I move with this chance…
Instinct says I should, caution says I’m not thinking
I wish I knew what you would say
My way is in the silence…
Be it the silence of light, or the silence of sound
- I prefer to be unseen unless looked for
- I try to be unheard until I make myself known
Like the wolf, I can be deadly but timid
I can take down almost all I desire, but I have fears
- And I can be killed
The wolf mates with one, the commitment is for life
This could explain my great caution
But not my explosive want of your company
What can I do
What should I do
It matters not, for something will be done…
My hopes are warm with your memory, but reality calls me a fool…
I am real
For all I have done and all I have seen, I have learned
For all I have reached and all I have missed, I have felt
But this does not fit…
There is no reason for my emotion to be swirling
What is it that I am feeling
Maybe it is the interpretation that is wrong
Maybe it’s wisdom that is mistaken, maybe…
But I am still real
I find myself burning in a lake of pure water
All that gives me knowledge and solidity is making my body spin
The mind is watching in limbo
The day ends and the night takes my vision
My thoughts are constant but the mind is scattered…
