All I know is that he didn't have it in chapter 3 as I bought it earlier XD (chapter 1), turns out that other power sphere thing was with a guard outside *sob*

uhh....
I had the same problem with this key... the first time I played the game when I was in chapter 5 I couldn't open the box too and I asked the girl in the shop and she said that a man bought it and went for a cave or something... I searched everywhere for him... I forgot about it... and the next time I played it I found it without looking for it, this man gave it to me and thanked me lol

yah the first sphere you need to get for the first number is behind the tent on the middle right side, dig the and a sphere will appear look through it an look at the empl, aroun there ia green ball whic is the first number. the next is ight wer ethe trainer is traiing the aurochs right above the rocks should be the second. The third is at the beginning of the bridge and is near somwehre straight ahead of it. The last it the little cliff were wakka pushes tidus off in FF-10 when you first goto besaid. and then open the door witht he numbers you found and youll be taken to the top of a waterfall and a ressure chest wuill be there with a garmet grid there.
