party system?
me and a friend were talking and we thought it would be great to have a small 3-4 member party system like the original final fantasy - i apologize if this topic has already been posted i just thought it would be a great idea and wanted to ask anyone who agreed

I think that its shelved till Funender sorts out the PvP and quest stuff. He is the only one working on the game at the moment.

It would take at least a few weeks, working flat out. Although that estimate is based on previous figures, and do not take into account the credit crunch. Plus Funender's massive to-do list.

so its a possibility not a guarantee then right? that is understandable and i am okay with this. i was only asking because it would make the game very interesting

I don't think it would be good. Having four people fighting a brumos would annihilate it before it got a chance to attack unless they were made tougher. If they were made tougher than people who aren't in a party would get slaughtered without spending thousands of gil on healing items. Changing the brumos toughness depending on the amount of people fighting would take quite a lot of programming. On the whole, it would just take too long to do. That's not to mention that the multiplayer Chocobo Racing was only really used when it was first implemented. I imagine it would be the same with a party system. Used for about a week after being implemented and then not bothered with ever again.

Huh? You think there'd only be 1 brumos..? I think there'd be one brumos for each player in the party (With their stats set based on that player), this would keep things balanced to an extent... of course, if there was a Lv 13 and a Lv 67 in the party then one of the brumos would be killed instantly and same for the Lv 13 Still, it's better than trying to balance 1 super brumos's stats to multiple players

or, perhaps a side quest of sorts. were it was nothing but extreme boss fights, of course, a story would have to be written, developed, programed, debugged, tested, debugged again, tested again and again.. but yeah. I'm sure funender could do something like that,
but.... he's a very busy man. this is but one of his many sites, and i believe he's still working hard on developing his music site. since the crash he's been working non stop on getting everything back up to par..

I think there's something hinting at parties actually. The elixir full description says "restores HP to ONE MEMBER". Why would it say that if we're limited to one person?

Well, it is can only be used by one person at a time- it doesn't heal multiple people in one go.

to be honest, a quest system would be more plausable at this point. multiplayer interactions would take a long to to do, where as quests would require writing and it would be in the same battle system we have now. Then you and in some options so you can do quests differently and then add more quests. down the line you would ahve quests that require more than one person to complete. its the logical route to travel if you want a party system.
