V and IV are way too similar in terms of endgame. Evil guy wanting power, party goes to other realm (Void/Moon) to fight him, gets beaten up by evil guy's big attack, gets revived by people they know, fights evil guy who has two forms. Bleeeeh.

All I know is I'm effing sick of crystals you'd think these people would learn not to trust crystals because there is always some sort of horrible happenings centered around said crystals either they get broken, cause a calamity, or get stole and used to destroy the world.

The bosses having two forms isn't uncommon. Even Sephy has two forms.
The storyline behind most RPGs (and possibly FPSs) are evil people wanting power or to destroy/rule the world so it's not as if you can specifically target FF IV and V for that.

It depends entirely upon their role in the story. ersonally, I thought that the Crystals were a good idea. It's a shame that Square did overuse them a bit, what with the fact that they were in III, IV, and V.

They were in the first one too...that's how the light warriors were identified and they had to be charged by the larger crystals v_v. I effing hate the crystals what I can't understand is why the idiots in that universe wouldn't put them all in one place and set armored guards and mages to protect them...if the crystals are that important they should protect them better. Sorry for my little rant it just isn't a good plot point.

You only got to choose the classes at the beginning for FF I and II but there were quite a lot, especially if you include the upgraded classes in I. There were a load in both FF V and FF III.

In my defense, I only played FF II once. Just tried it again and you are unable to pick classes in FF II so you cannot make anyone whatever you want either.
