a solid 3.
it would have scored way higher if it didnt force me to perform dull fight after fight, so much so that i lost interest in the story and characters.
not as bad as 12, but a far cry from any other real ff game.

I finally got myself to start playing it these days as my FFIX is having a sad story. I am hating the linear gameplay and the very easy battles. I just press X while doing other stuff with my life. The wireless controller helps! I am trying to make it more interesting for me by "playing" with the battle "phases", can't remember what they are called. The story line is so far a typical FF one. I am in chapter 5 or 6 by the way. In terms of characters; I like Sazh, even though his story is in the background and I am loving the personality clash between Lighting and Snow, I know it happened before in previous FF, but I don't remember people hitting each other every cutscene. I will rate it overall when I am done .
