North Korean "Missile Crisis" - Nuclear Warfare
Hello everyone,
I have been doing a lot of reading in the news etc, about nuclear warfare, etc and find myself increasingly interested in what's going on with North Korea at the moment.
India have already tested Nuclear Missiles successfully and more recently Pakistan.
I was just wondering how you feel about the situation brewing at the moment and Nuclear technology in general.

I thought India and Pakistan were just testing nuclear-capable missiles? I mean, we all know they have nukes for a long time...
As for North Korea..... I think they realise that if they stepped too far then even China wouldn't be able to help.... And being stuck between two superpowers probably won't be too useful...
More worried about Iran really, if they are actually trying to make a weapon. They're the ones who don't have anyone to stop them....
Nuclear power plants are fine; as weapons, well, I think so long as they are well-guarded then its cool. But there are cases of old soviet ones going into the black market; which would be the biggest issue....

I'd be more worried if they had more money. honestly, china's stopped giving half of a damn about N. Korea as they become more and more capitalistic.
They can build as many nukes as they want, but they need fuel and planes to do anything with them. And they don't have enough of either to really pose a threat to any of us.
Even if they did load up a plane and aim for S. Korea or Japan, they'd be stopped pretty quickly. The US and S. Korea have got their eyes VERY close on N. Korea. And since a lot of China's income is from the US, Japan, and S. Korea; I'm sure china would step in and do something about it.
Basically, it's all just a way to scare us. Kind of like those owls that are small and cute, but they puff and and look scary when they see a threat.
N. Korea is no more than a puffy owl. XD

I'm not really concerned, North Korea poses no real threat so long as America has it's watchful eye on them. That being said, we should have ended North Korea in the 1950s.

actually from stories of soldiers who have been stationed in Korea says NK has the power to destroy the capital of SK at any moment just what i heard. so you say NK no real threat? idk about that. and i also heard from them that they are there to hold off untill the barrages of artillery and stuff are done then the real army of the US will come if NK ever does do anything. but fact is alot of people are going to die.

They have; but equally SK have the power to wipe out the North; especially if North Korea starts it. In that case not even China would support it.
As for wiping out NK in the Korean war; with China as their backer it was never the case. Maybe if the UN forces had only stopped at the border between the two, rather than push on.... That might have prevented Chinese intervention; which is the only reason why NK exists: because of Chinese support.

but again, they'll be fine. If north korea even THINKS about launching anything, 3 countries are automatically watching. they're (hopefully) not stupid enough to launch a nuclear weapon on a country that's right next door. because if japan, america, and what's left of s.korea won't kill them; the radiation will.
Meaning that they'll launch on something further away (japan's a good bet)..... (poor japan...).
and if the do, then it'll get shot down pretty quickly.

South Korea is actually in the process of moving their capital further to the south to Sejong, far out of range from North Korean artillery and with a much easier chance to intercept NK missiles.

actually, they took it back after a few years. The project was too big and the idea didn't settle well with all the people that had to move because of their government jobs.
