Nintendo Ruining Their Systems
Gonna be blunt here, Nintendo is screwing themselves over with this really bad TV advertising. If their target audience at this point is little girls and middle aged mothers, then I might as well sell my DS right now.
They never seem to advertise the good stuff coming out for the Wii and the DS, all I ever see is a multitude of pet care games, and now, a freaking cook book DS game.
With all of the actual good stuff coming out, why do they shun them with this garbage? I barely ever see an add for a new DS or Wii game now that isn't family friendly, or made for little girls.
I really like my DS, and it should NOT have to be up to the consumer to dig through all those stupid pet games (what next, Petz: Lice?) to find the really good stuff hidden underneath.
It is understandable that Nintendo tries for family friendly games, but basically shunning every game with more then a T rating is ridiculous. I don't know if they are pulling these garbage commercials all over the world, but they sure are throwing them all over American TV.

Well I don't know about where your from but here where I live a big stink is being raised about ads for the gory and bloody games and anything rated M being advertised for the the other systems so maybe Nintendo is avoiding those problems that and the family friendly games on the Wii (mainly the party ones) are its biggest sellers...not sure about the DS though.

I don't see any adverts for DS now. When there were adverts none of them were for those "Pet" games. As for Wii, I think that it's the run-up to christmas meaning that they're advertising games which would appeal to the whole family rather than a select few.

nintendo is quite odd. the systems they make allow for a different kind of game all together. and they arent really taking it seriously.
the DS has been out for how long? and touch-screen are just starting to take off NOW. motion controlls are barely taking off and truely innovative motion controlled games will start to come out next generation (when microsoft adopts the motion ideas) and a full platform of new input can be created.
i guess what im saying is: nintendo is ahead of the game, and unfortunately the rest of the industry is barely catching up.

To be fair, they've had far more experience in the games industry then most other companies. They were one of the first major companies to leap on the chance to create computer games.
