New forum Idea
We could have a cross- platform games forum in the in the other games and systems section. it would reduce threads (hopefully) from being created in two or three different sections. I was thinking about this when I saw three different oblivion threads.

I can see benefits to both; but EP, do you think that having specific forum areas would work? Mind you, most new players tend to post in the lounge about games; I doubt making new sub-forums would do much to change that.

people learn over time. most of the people that post in the games forum wiould get used to it quite fast, but we just need to teach the newbies what to post where, but people are always in a rush with such ignorance that they make so many mistakes and never want to read the FAQ. If only we could make it required to look at it before they could do anything, things would be so much better.

So a better suggestion would be to make sure people read the FAQ first, and post after they've understood it?
I kinda had that idea before, but I don't think it could be implemented that easlily. The thing is though, I don't think there are enough active people around who post there to merit a change just yet.

There is a response thread to it somewhere....
And it is not related to the topic of this thread, so I don't know what your point is.
The point I was trying to make is that the FAQ is for the RPG only, not the forums in general. They should have stuck the main FAQ somewhere prominent for all the newbies to see.

right, like when you first start, you can't post anything until you post in the FAQ, like how you have to post in the level up thread to level up in the RPG. Sure, people might just post in it to get through, but there are those that will read about it, and others will know of it if they need a reference.
