one thing I do (if its simply a sleep schedule issue) is purposefully stay up 24hrs (more or less depending on the time you make the resolution) and then only allow myself to sleep exactly 8 hours before I want to be awake, and at the 8 hour mark, no matter how tired I feel, I wake up and get out of bed. I guarantee that under normal circumstances, you will be able to easily fall asleep again at the same time the next night

And when you wake up, at a specific time (Should try and do 10pm to 7am) make sure that you step outside and stare at the blue sky for a bit (not at the sun) so it gets your brain into the waking notion of the time.
And make sure you aren't on the computer, tv or anything bright for an hour before bed, otherwise your brain thinks its still daytime.
i don't want meds.
secondly, i have nightmares non-stop.
thirdly, dreamcatchers don't help.
forthly, my mind is "shattered" and so i have trouble trying to focus on one thing.
reading, thinking, eating, drinking, sends my mind into "hyperactive" State, which effectivly means my brain due to being shattered, is moving to fast when entering a relaxed state, thus making sleep impossible.

well stop telling people and go actually talk to someone about it -_- how about that? plus I don't know what you are complaining about 90% of my "dreams" are nightmares, and I prefer it that way; and my nightmares are severely messed up, ask Pina, she has heard what my mild nightmares are like. I enjoy my nightmares, maybe you should simply learn to enjoy yours as well.
Also, stop self-diagnosing. Go see a specialist. Did you know that your local hospital probably has a whole "sleep studies" wing? Stop whining and take some action.
