My Favorite
FFXII is my favorite Final Fantasy so far. It's battle system is somewhat like Star Wars:Knights of the Old Republic, in the sense that it's turnbased, but you can still run around. I like the storyline, too. But that's not to say that i don't like the other Final Fantasy games.
FFI was innovative for it's time and helped establish the RPG genre. It was also a fun game.
FFVII is the most well-known and well-liked Final Fantasy. It was fun, challenging, and had a great storyline, along with having two of the best characters in the history of gaming:Cloud and Sephiroth
FFX was nothing out of the ordinary in gameplay, except for the totally awesome aeons, but it's storyline is my favorite out of all the Final Fantasy games so far.
Who else likes this game a lot?
Also: in ranking the game, base it off of how you liked it compared to other Final Fantasy games and other RPGs in general.

uhh..its had its ups and downs not one of the best but its good
not enough story for me and i love me story lol
heres my rankings of my top 5
FF9-9.8(greatest gameplay ive ever played...soo much fun for me...great story too just not as good as 7)
FF7-9.6 do i need to explain?
FF6- 8.9 havnt finished but im already lovin it
ff12- 8.1 much better voice acting then 10..good gameplay..couldve been better tho..alrite story
10-7.4....way too easy w/o ATB good story/graphics bad voice

i love the both the battle system on the old one and the new one....but just like Deadcloud said there's not enough to see in the story...and for me i think the maker didnt make any importance on the role of each character....

Well, so far it's missing the classic FF love story, and it's very politically driven, but there is a story, you are all looking for an overlying grand picture, and it's too plain to see for you to see it. The story just isn't as complicated as other FF's that's all, so you have to look into each individual characters stories.

lolz so basically whats this individual story your talking about?and whats so complicated in the story? it's easy to understand ...
Vaan lose his brother in the war and in chapter 1 it was already solve
Penelo whats with her ?
For most part of the game only Balthier, Fran, Ashe and the other guy are important in the whole freakin story...
