my computer hates me
so i bought a 400gb ata harddrive for my computer... im thinking "oh joy, i can get more TV shows on my computer now!"
so i install the thing. and then my boot partition on my 250gb SATA harddrive refuses to work..
so here i am, using my Windows Professional disc to use the recovery settings to fixboot and chkdsk /r on my disk drive...
this isint the first time its done this. every time i add or remove a new harddrive on my computer i, for some reason, need to reinstall windows.
awesomeness... i would go to linux 100% except for three things..
1: linux hates my Wireless card (thusly no internet)
2: Linux hates my sound card (thusly no sound)
3: Linux hates ATi video card.. (thusly no high-preformance games)
*sigh* if those three things would be fixed.. i would DEFINATELY use linux 100% of the time. but it doesnt... so here i am, watching my harddrive go though checkdisck, repairing all the bad sectors and hoping to god that i dont have to reinstall windows and lose all of the information on my disc.
then again if i DO have to reinstall windows, the good thing is that i can use a linux disc to copy all of the information that i need to keeps onto the new 400gb harddrive.
for informations sake.. i have a 160gb ATA harddrive. a 250gb SATA harddrive, and now a 400gb ATA harddrive.
im going to make an extended partion across the 160gb and the 400gb harddrives so it will look like a single 560gb harddrive. and use the 250 gb harddrive exclusively for installing games and windows (because it is a faster harddrive)
*sigh* i never have this much trouble at work.

Lol well sounds like your having alot of trouble with ya hard drive. Is it your computer that is playing up?
