I will be offline all day on May 10th for my throat surgery. cable will be the substitute admin for that day and maybe the day after or so (not sure exactly what to expect). I will restore his mod permissions for a few days to help me out. I'm sure FuN will still be the "Eye In The Sky" so behave y'all.
I'm not sure about the after shocks yet until I get to that point. The doctor says it depends on the patient what happens to you. Some issues could be difficulty swallowing but only because the brain is confused by the surgery on the thyroid which is beside the voice box, hoarseness, swelling, redness, not wanting to talk, iow throat stuff. The most upsetting part will be what kind of scar will I end up with on the front of my neck at the very bottom.
For those that have not seen previous discussions in other topics, I have a benign tumor sitting on top of my thyroid that I can thank my family genetic history for, hormonal imbalances and other medical scientific gobbledegook which I can't understand. It causes indigestion so bad that Prilosec and anti-acid tablets do not work but I still take them like candy. I just eat half a meal and its not as bad, but its really hard to eat half a meal when you're hungry all the time or go out and pay for a full meal. I'm losing weight and I don't need to. Then there is muscle & joint pain too, and other side effects. The doctor promises me I'll feel like a new person afterwards. We shall see.
So anyone late for class, or skipping class or misbehaving in class just remember the elementary school next door has given us the use of their cafeteria in case of overflow for Saturday Detention. I don't think you want to be sitting on those tiny little seats.

As I wrote in another thread, I'm sure things will work out fine for you. That is what I believe and hope - and I'm clearly not the only member thinking like that, which is great!
It's never nice to have to get surgery, but in the end, the doctor isn't doing it for fun - in one way or the other, it is to help you. Keep that in mind and any negative effect of the surgery might not feel as bad.
