Zalera looked up at the night sky. "Lena, you should rest. Get some sleep. You will need your strength." His tail swayed from side to side, the pace matching the speed at which his thoughts were flying through his head.
He nodded and gently cradled her in his cloak against his chest. He also began to sing a soft lullaby after whispering to her softly. "I'll help you get to sleep. I also won't stop holding you at all tonight." The lullaby was different than Ultima's but it was just as soft and soothing, even in Zalera's deep baritone voice.
At first Lena tried to fight it, she wondered why he would be so willing to hold her all night....wouldn't that be boring? But before she could ask, she found she couldn't hold it back any longer, and drifted off to sleep.
Zalera kept her cradled in his arms as he kept tending to the fire and made sure she was wrapped up in hic cloak, close to his fur so that she would stay warm. He let his mind think throughout the night, letting it sort itself out from the events that had recently taken place.
He kept holding her and kept a vigilant eye on their surroundings. Noticing nothing, he would turn his attention to Lena momentarily, to make sure she was doing alright.
Zalera smiled at her softly and set her beside him. "So, did you sleep well?" He poured himself a bowl of the stew and began to eat it, his stomach rumbling a bit from not eating all night.
He chuckled and just shook his head. "I didn't want to wake you, so I just waited. I'm fine. Besides, I have food now so I'm getting my nutrition." He took a few more bites of his soup and then drained the bowl, serving himself more. "Want some more?"
He served up a second bowl and handed it to Lena. He then started on his second bowl, eating at a normal pace, which was pretty leisurely. His tail swayed back and forth, exhibiting how content he currently was.
