You mean except most RPGs? It's not something unique to LoZ. There are loads of fantasy RPGs where you have to fight zombies with a sword and shield (or similar fantasy weapons). To name one of them, "Oblivion".

Well, Elder Scrolls III : Morrowind did a decent job.
But I mean like.. Lots of RPG's have a zombie, but you just double click it and watch your player kill it.. Or FPS's where you fire at them.. But you never actually get freedom of a sword and shield and..
Well name a game where you can parry a Zombie's attack with a shield, do a backflip, a couple quick side jumps, then lunge at them and stab them in the back with a dagger? lol.. It just felt like.. the freedom RE never had. ^.^

Dagger? I don't remember any daggers in LoZ. There's a Tomahawk in LoZ Game & Watch but no daggers.

Koroki Sword, w/e.. The first sword you get as a kid before you start your first dungeon. But it's like, 3 inche's long. That's definately NOT a sword. >.>
But do ya know what I mean? That had an awesome sense of freedom of combat.. Or at least I thought.. Only thing that it lacked was you couldn't jump. >.>

That's a shortsword. A dagger would be shorter. Anyway, I'd say the Kokiri Sword is at least 6 inches.

No way! lol. The blade is like, 3/4 the size of the shield... And blah, short-sword. >.>
Anyways, I've yet to see where you can dual with a Zombie in any other game that gave you that type of freedom. =P I'd love for like, Left 4 Dead to have a zombie with lots of hp, and you given a sword and shield. ^.^

spent 24 hours scouring the web for textures, combining packages, getting plugins to work, tweaking settings and i managed to get from this:

some of the game looks like this, but not all. but it does breathe new life into the game for me.
though, inside most houses and including Hyrule town look just as bad as they did before due to those areas being just one giant low resolution texture.
[edit] sorry, some of the game looks like this. no dungeons are complete yet. |
BEST GAME ON THE 64..... well that's my opinion.....love the graphical differences....talk about crystal clear hahaha

Dark Alliance: Baldur's gate 1 and 2 and in that one their limbs fell off...pretty much any mmo or dungeon crawler...as well as a few hack and slashes.
Anyway that does sound like it took alot of time just to find the right stuff not even mentioning the time and effort you probably took implementing them into the game programming.
