Hey people!
I've been interested in learning the Japanese language for quite a while now, especially since many of my hobbies are based from the language.
Is there anyone else who wants to learn?
We can learn together, or become pen-pals or something!
I do...but I'm not sure how soon I will start learning...probably when I go back home XD I started a few times but I always got too busy with school crap...but now that I graduated maybe I have time XD

That's awesome. Well, let me know when you start. It would be nice to learn with someone else.
The hardest part is to start after all, along with the three alphabets *winks*
3 alphabets is always fun although you only really need to learn 2 and the most common characters in the 3rd. The average japanese person doesn't know all kanji there's so many of the buggers XD also although you've got more characters to learn once you've learned them that's it. Each symbol makes one sound and they don't change no matter what order you put them in. Unlike the english language which can't seem to decide what its letters sound like.

I'm already pretty far along, but i'm on a break right now to learn korean. XD
My advise though with the 3 alphabets to to ignore kanji for awhile. Learn hiragana first because it's easier in my opinion. And a lot of them look like their katakana counterparts. If you don't have them down 100%, don't feel down. Find easy words that have the kana in it. Like if you were having trouble with "ri" in katakana, then apple is (ringo). so it's リンゴ in katakana. Just remember that apple starts with リ and you have it (plus, it looks exactly like the hiragana one). XD
