The way many sciences work is: "Something is rooted in fact until disproved by later evidence."
This is pretty much the basis for science.
And that is a rather interesting viewpoint, I haven't actually heard of the Kami system before
It isn't usually approached in such a way. Shinto is the basic belief system that I feel has a grasp, even though they may have long been unaware of it, of these different competing functional effects that are in this world.
Science, itself, is a very accurate way of measuring the strength of many kami, labeling, and classifying them, and all of this without knowing that they are measuring kami.
But really, that is what science does. It looks to see what effect this or that has on the other through experiment, so it sees the functional effects of things. But sometimes it gets so deeply into itself that it may see functional effects that aren't wide spread enough to be strong kami outside of a scientific environment. Sometimes that works out, as with scientists inadvertently strengthening a weaker kami to the point of it becoming the dominant one, and sometimes it leads only to endless conflict, especially when clashing with religions.

I have to say, i was pretty skeptical about my own pictures for about 10 minutes. I thought i was weird that i was getting "dust" all the time because it had never happened to me with that camera before, and i had it for like.... 3 years at that time (and i used to take a LOT of photos).
The one that made me believe was the last one when my camera flipped out. Waaaaaay weird.

Yeah. I have seen something similar to a ghost. It was an orb that appeared after I prayed when I was younger because I was afraid of the dark. It was glowing and floating in the perfect spot to shine down on me.
So naturally, as any young child would be prone to do, I began to wonder if somehow the psychological trama of my being afraid of the dark had caused me to hallucinate. Wait... no most young children would have just freaked out. X3 I, instead, walked up to the thing and tried to touch it, and my arm went through it, and that is what freaked me out. XD But not so much that I couldn't go to sleep. I was much more afraid of the dark than this unknown glowing entity. XD

Good cause I love psychology...well not the class so much as the subject...I mean it's cool and all...just...the class...eh...I like it better in my spare time than when I'm working my ass off to do it...

the orb pic (if you look right above the TV, a lot of the other pictures had orbs like that, but more than half were bigger orbs that were less see-through).

What you are saying boils down to what I have said, regardless of whether this is a dream or not, it has the function of being real and proof has the function of being proof.
But it will only have the function of being proof if affects those around it as such. If it stops doing so, regardless of what lab studies or mathematical calculations may say, it stops having the function of being proof.
