Karma cut...
...I assume that this goes into the suggestion box...
...I had a karma loss on January 29th, 2009, and the charge was that I was cheating the Karma system...
...I read through the FAQ and the rules and the only information I found was that there is a security system...and that's all...
...the only two reasons I could think of that can possibly result me being accused of cheating karma are:
1.) I left my account logged in overnight (forgot about the computer) however, since I already revisited after midnight, and already got the karma point for that day there should be no problem...
2.) I noticed the time indicated on Funender for once and decided to change it according to the set time of the pacific coast of north america which is GMT -8 (I think)...this probably had the security system think that I was rolling back the time to get another karma point (which I wasn't)...
...if any of these reasons are true, the I suggest to post them as a warning not to do so in the FAQ or in the rules so that there would be no further karma loss based of an accident...

I will set your Karma to 417. We have an automated system that sent 50+ emails stating that you have set your timezone back and forth to gain karma. To be honest, I believe that you figured you have found a flaw and abused it without realizing that we have ways of tracking that, however I will not bother arguing. Since this is the second time in years that someone tried this, perhaps in the future we can refer to this topic in case someone else tries it. Thanks

Administrators can give karma, hence FuN being able to change flare's karma. They won't without good reason though. You only get one karma a day (providing you log in at least 24 hours from the last time you logged in) meaning that you have to be patient.

...not really, it's based on midnight in your timezone...for example, I log in once at 11pm and again at 1am...this gives me 2 karma...but after 1 pm I have to wait another 23 hours...
